  BIG DISAPPOINTMENT

  We arrived at Kota Kinabalu around 1am and rented a taxi going to the hotel. It was almost 3am when we found where the hotel is! Photos posted at agoda was a hoax. The actual location was the street at the back of the stated location and it was named Hotel Legent. The contact number posted in their site. When we arrived, there was no one in the reception. They gave us a bit spacious room and it looks very, very old. The room also had a smell of the very piquant, Malaysian-signature spice because of the restaurant beneath our room. And around 6am, my partner and I woke up to the sound of the moving tables and chairs as the restaurant beneath us prepares for the day. We were so so disappointed that we even wanted to transfer to a different hotel. But we might just end up the same way as this hotel. We stayed here for 2 night and the aircon broke on our 2nd night. Likewise, it looks like the hotel is located where there are a lot of juvenile delinquents around the area, NEVER EVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL!

  This hotel is quite nice as the price is economic. The place is clean and worth a stay. The weaknesses is the location of this hotel is quite hard to find, hardly accessible by elder people with disabilities and the rooms are limited so please book early before you go.

  Good for cheap stay but in bad area

  It has a high level of dirt on walls, need cleaned or repainted. Air con cools room but does not seem to work well alone. Have to also use the fan on wall to circulate the air. Surprise of a 20 Ringgit deposit for a key and ac remote. TV works but only 4 local channels and you need a TV remote to adjust them (not originally given). However it is not worth watching. Internet is slow in this country. Some issues connecting to wifi from inside your room. Have to keep turning off and on your AC when leaving/arriving. Traffic noise on a street facing room. A boy racer is parking in front of hotel and racing day and night. For 2 days there were what sounded like artillery shells but assume were illegal fireworks going off many times in the night. You will hear the loud call to prayer from a mosque as well many times in a day. I was told to stay inside after 9 pm for my own safety. Local people say to watch your money closely. Also apparently there have been theft issues so you cannot have any valuable items in the hotel. Must climb stairs to reach lobby and then climb more stairs to your room

  Good for boobs

  Small and comparativelly cheap small hotel in the city centre near by night market. Frendly personal, shared fridge and in simple rooms with AC. We can reccomend for people who not need comfort but need AC.
