    Not the best La Quinta

    rating27 Oct 2025

Often my fellow road-trippers agree, La Quinta by Wyndham can be good or can be bad. I was not so crazy about the La Quinta Williamsburg Historic Area. We appreciated that they accepted our dog at $25 per night. (The acceptance of pets and price for pets is confusingly and varies by each La Quinta location. Our South RIchmond location the night before was $0) The first room we were assigned was not cleaned, and smelled of smoke, depsite the no smoking policy. The second room we were assigned flooded every time you flushed the toilet. See photos. We were told that it was all they had and they were sold out. We were eventually assigned room. Overall the hotel was clean, but floors and finishes and more were in disrepair here and there. What I didn't like the most: The wall of smoke from the smokers who regularly congregated around the front entrance. Security: the unattended and unsecured second entrance that allowed entrance to the hotel by anyome anytime.

    Pleasantly surprised by La Quinta

    rating13 Sept 2025

I had a good experience at La Quinta. The staff was polite and efficient. My room and the hotel were very clean. I liked having a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. There was plenty of parking and the price was a great deal. The hotel is older and the decor is dated, but it was very quiet with solid walls. I was a bit worried because of the low ratings, but I was pleasantly surprised and glad I gave it a chance. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay.

    Mold and water damage throughout

    rating01 Aug 2025

Arrived for check in at 11pm and only wanted a shower after 6+ hours of driving. Got to our room to find the bathroom ceiling in a state of water damage induced collapsed surrounded by mold growth. Cracked and leaking vanity sink with leaking P trap. This was room 331.I went to the service desk and asked for a second room. I went up to assess room 427 before bringing my family up to it, this room had cracked and hugging shower surround, mold infested ceiling, peeling paint off most of the ceiling and wall and an actual hole I could fit most of my hand in, all in the bathroom. The wall with the hole was held together mostly with caulking and paint. The drywall behind the hole was saturated. Back to the desk to ask for a new room.Went to assess room 337 and 3 different attempts with 6 different key cards and nothing worked.Back to the desk and assessed 427, the only room worth staying in, clean, tidy and no water damage.Emailed and rang corporate but got no response. Will be informing VDH and BBB.

Outdated and no hospitality, not worth the money

    rating06 Jul 2025

The rooms are outdated, especially the bathrooms. One of our rooms had a terrible patch job on the wall. I'm not a handy person, but I could've patched that huge hole a lot better myself. The plumbing needs to be updated and so do their electrical outlets. The blow dryer plug kept falling out of the outlet. The toiletries they supply are poor quality and very minimal. The elevator was very hot, like a sauna and for someone who is claustrophobic, it wasn't easy taking that ride up to the 4th floor. The person at the front desk for our check out needs to learn what hospitality means. I greet everyone with a smile, as I did approaching her and told her "good morning", and she couldn't even respond or ask how our stay was, just took my key cards and then seemed put out because I asked for a receipt. $100 for one night, just to have a bed to sleep in after a long day in the sun and water to rest before a 3 hour drive home, it wasn't worth it. Nest time I will be staying somewhere else.
