  If Cold service was a Luxury Experience

  I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was honestly the worst Accor property I’ve ever stayed in.From the moment I arrived, the front desk experience set the tone, staff were unfriendly, with no smile and no sense of welcome whatsoever. It felt cold and transactional rather than hospitable.What really made things worse was a safety issue at the lobby. While seated there, I noticed water splashing down from the second floor, it felt like rain coming indoors. There were no barricades, no warning signs, and no indication that any air-conditioning maintenance was taking place. It was both uncomfortable and potentially hazardous. When I brought this to a staff member’s attention, he simply stood there and looked at me as if I was saying something strange. There was no urgency, no acknowledgment, and definitely no apology. Only after that did they slowly bring out barricades to close off the area.At that point, I decided to cancel my stay clearly I don’t deserve this level of “service.” I moved to Sheraton instead, which turned out to be absolutely not a wrong choice… and hey, even got a free room upgrade.The lack of basic service recovery, especially something as simple as an apology, was extremely disappointing. Overall, a very poor experience that falls far below what I would expect from an Accor property.

  Good Location easy walking distance to city centre and coastal area. This is a "dry" hotel (no bar). Room was clean and comfortable but on appearance the halls in the hotel are shabby. Breakfast was good. Good Italian Restaurant - Little Italy in easy walking distance, the Italian attached to the Mercure wasn't that good!!! Nice Shopping Mall close by too

  Not sure if Mercure is a 4 star hotel, I stayed for 4 nights and wouldn’t say my stay was horrible but would say it was great either!Room itself seems outdated and some of the Lino on the floor was started to peel, bathroom is open style that is very unusual for a hotel room, if you are traveling with a friend it has no privacy!Great location, you are only a few minutes walk from a lot of the main areas, so that’s a big plus, also staff friendly and attentive, breakfast ok, not a not of western food options but ok if majority of there clientele are from Asia.During my stay pool closed for all 4 days that I was at hotel, roof top restaurant had a few items of the menu and couldn’t do some of the cocktails on the menu, so I never went back, 4 star hotel shouldn’t have listed items on a menu not available?For the location and price not a bad hotel to stay out, just don’t expect a WOW factor with your stay.

  Not Worth 4-Star Rating or the Price- More of a budget hotel.

  Great location, and the check-in process was quick with friendly front desk staff. However, there was no bellboy available to assist with luggage upon arrival.The condition of the rooms felt more like a 2-star property or below. There was a damp, mouldy smell, a noticeable amount of dust and hair, and the carpet had obvious food spills and stains. The bathroom showed signs of mould, while the bedsheets and sofa were dusty and stained.At night, it was difficult to breathe in the bedroom as the air conditioning circulated a damp, mouldy smell. The rooms have individual AC units that clearly require regular and proper servicing.The following day, one of the front desk staff was cutting their nails while standing at the front desk, which was highly unprofessional.Overall, the rooms require a thorough deep clean, from floors and walls to all surfaces. A quick, routine housekeeping clean is simply not sufficient given the current condition.

  My flight was canceled by the airline, and I was arriving a day late. When I asked the hotel if they could accommodate me by canceling one night's stay, they refused, showing a complete lack of empathy from the reservations department.The bathroom in my room had a lot of mold, and there were traces of feces on the walls.These two issues are minor. What shocked me most was the extremely rude attitude of the lobby staff. On the night of my check-out, I returned to the hotel to retrieve my backpack. When the bellboy uncle saw me outside the door preparing to enter, he immediately turned away instead of helping me open the door. After I entered the lobby and asked him to get my backpack, he glanced at his watch, then showed his displeasure. When he handed me the backpack, he showed another expression of displeasure. This was the first time in my life I had encountered such rude hotel staff.I do not recommend this hotel in Sabah.航班被航空公司取消了，要遲一天才到達，詢問酒店能否酌情通融取消一晚，堅持拒絕，非常沒有同理心的訂房部。房間的浴室大量黴菌，牆上還有糞便的痕跡。以上兩件都是小事，最令我震驚的是，大堂職員態度極度惡劣，退房日子的晚上回酒店取回背包，bell boy uncle看到我在門外準備進酒店，立即掉頭離開而不是幫助開門，進入大堂後請他為我取背包，看一看手錶再展露不悅的表情，拿背包給我時再展露多一次不滿的表情，這是我人生的第一次遇到這麼態度惡劣的酒店職員。不建議大家選這間沙巴酒店。
