    Step into a time capsule

    Enter the Shervinton, and you will feel like you just entered a time capsule.Rooms look like LA in 1975, carpets everywhere, dark colours, an old bed. I felt like a detective in an old Hollywood noir. Everything is a bit dusty, but everything worked, hot water was there and a large Chinese breakfast room replete with a disco-ball awaited you in the"Sky Bar". I have no doubt that many years ago this was the prime hotel in town. In dire need of an upgrade but strangely and nostalgically enjoyable. Tawau is not a tourist destination, so there is little drive to upgrade facilities.

    This hotel has a great location where we could access to kopitiam, restaurants and food court by just walking and the nearby beach. Staff are friendly. When we need another bottle of drinking water, we must pay. The room not includes hand towel which allows guests to pay if needed. The price of the room with breakfast is very affordable. That's why if we break a single glass, we must pay....etc. Bed and 2 pillows are comfy and the air conditioner works well. Toilet and shower room are not comfortable. Shampoo and bath gel are mixed in an unbranded bottle. At least there are free toothbrush and toothpaste. Workmanship of the bathroom tiles are very poor and looks dirty. Breakfast is very simple. I consider this hotel is good because we couldn't possibly find any other hotels in Tawau which is very good.

    The hotel has been refurbished and rooms now are reasonably good. I stayed at a good queen room. So rooms have no windows. Good for price. Air con very efficient and the bed is firm. There are a few restaurants around. Nothing special but some are 24 hours.

    It great to check in here.but it just like any other hotels it has low faccillities .but it has a great view bar and restoraunt placE.eVeN we are eating our food.we can still enjoy the view of Tawau cities.Thats all from me ...............?..

    Is an Old Hotel (looks good apperance only)

    I have stayed in this Hotel for a night and found that the room is not up to the expectation as in their website.. i rather not to recommend to stay in this hotel but you really have not much choice in Tawau.. there are some other clean hotel surrounding, i think.. they need to really do cleaning / room service properly.. can found hair in the blanket, mattress, pillow.. irritating when seeing those hairs.. they sprayed scent smell in everywhere.. anyway, room cleanliness is the main probably.. other than room looks old.. receptionist counter is good.. no comment on that..
