AVOID! Not a 4 star hotel, more of a dorm.

    rating09 Jul 2024

Not a hotel at all, more of a dormitory or half way house for transit travelers. Reception unmanned in the evening . Bedsheets, pillows, mattress not really clean. They give you a key to get to the rooms (for security) but they keep it open during the day (the door leading to the lift). DONT GO FOR MASSAGE , beds are filthy! Might be a good hotel before 2020, but definitely NOT a 4star hotel for 2024. Read the reviews from 2023, all true. AVOID AVOID AVOID . There are better, real hotels in the area.

    Lovely hotel now faded.

    rating14 Apr 2024

I am sure this was once a lovely hotel. The photos on the internet suggest that. But now everything is very tired and barely works, especially the airconditioners. Rooms on the street are extremely noisy. The rooms are tidy and somewhat clean. And the staff friendly. But it’s run more like a guest house than a hotel. There are better places to stay.

    Rather a 3-star hotel

    rating08 Sept 2023

We didn't have a very good start at this hotel as the welcoming was more manager like than friendly welcoming new guests. And there were some other things that could be better, especially when you are in a 4-star hotel. We were told that breakfast could be the earliest at 8 o'clock, later it turned out 7 was also possible. As it's getting dark early in Malaysia you need your time to do things and every hour extra is a plus. For breakfast we had to chose what we wanted a day beforehand. No problem, but I was served plain toasts with only butter as they had run out of jam. It would have been better to explain that before serving it, giving the option to choose something else. All in all I would say this is rather a 3-star hotel instead of a 4-star hotel. The room was good, though some more lights would have been nice. Also in the bathroom where one of the lights wasn't working. Location is good, in Chinatown, but I think I would go for another hotel if I ever go back to Kuala Lumpur.

    Worst choice in KL

    rating12 Aug 2023

There is a good range of hotels in KL. We chose the wrong one. Service very bad eg reception not open during many hours. Completey worn down and not clean. I can not come up with a positive thing. Drinkwater in the room tastes of chlorid and the bathrooms are a joke

    Stuffy, Soulless and Unattractive.

    rating14 Feb 2023

We stayed here to be close to Jalan Alor and to be central to most of the sights in KL basing our booking on the pictures and description on the website. However, the reality is quite different. While our room promised a window, it was on the inside corridor. The staff and hotel generally are quite charmless, once past the entrance courtyard it's all downhill, although it is relatively cheap. The cleanliness was good, but the room was very stuffy and with noise from the adjoining rooms and corridor through the oddly placed window, needed to keep the drapes closed for privacy. We were obliged to pay a deposit for the room key cards, maybe 60 RMB, I forget exactly, but this could only be redeemed after checkout but only after midday as the desk is unmanned until then. While in a good location, it turned out to be a soulless and unappealing place to stay. Oh Meng, General Manager at Anggun Boutique Hotel, responded to this review Dear Razzy38,Thank you for your review. We had many guests who stayed with us due to our more smaller and boutique concept and we had never promised a window with outside view. Due to the configurations of our building there are rooms with windows facing out and facing inner courtyard.Maybe you had are expecting something that we had never promised, hence you reaction. Since you had feedback to us and we shall take it as a constructive feedback so that we can be more details in our product information to avoid missunderstanding. As you may know, most hotels either expect all guests to either signed a charge on their credit card or cash as refundable deposit is a normal practice in all hotels in Malaysia. We will need to forgive your ignorance on this and for your information, we do allow all our guests to check out early than noon time with earlier notice given. We regret that you are felt soulless and unappealing during your stay.We are just an acommodation provider who are ready to serve our guests with 24 hours hotline services and 12 hours desk services. We do not overpromised and we are always ready to give you our best services to you.Thank you once again for your kind support.
