Location

The hotel is located in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur, opposite the Times Square Shopping Centre, a one-stop entertainment centre which includes an indoor theme park, retail outlets and an IMAX cinema. It is surrounded by business complexes, major shopping malls and entertainment spots.

Facility

The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. A lift and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. Souvenirs can be purchased at the gift shop. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Rooms

The dining area includes a restaurant and a bar. Half board is offered as a catering option. Options include breakfast. Vegetarian dishes, children's meals, organic food and vegan food can be prepared on request.

    Great location, mostly great staff - but no…

    We arrived late at Mélia KL, and the reception was so dark it kind of looked like they had closed down for the night. A night receptionist finally came out to assist us with check-in but that really took some time… I had booked a double-room but was then informed only a room with two single beds was available. Just an explanation, no «we’re sorry» - but she did offer that I could change room the following day «if anything becomes available». I would not mind sleeping in a single bed if it was only long enough. But I do not appreciate sleeping with my feet outside the bed. In a double-bed, I can take advantage of the diagonal, but these beds were far apart with furniture in-between. So dear Mélia - next time, please either provide an upgrade or warn the arriving guest with an e-mail in advance, so that they can make other arrangements. For me, this is the main reason this was my last stay with you.Elevators are slow, and the corridor to my room had an incredibly unpleasant smell. The room was OK, real floor instead of carpet, which I appreciated. But it was dark, in particular the bath-room, where a bulb needs to be replaced (I did not have the energy to deal with that after a 16 hour work and travel day). Also, the door to the bath-room goes inwards and occupies a lot of the bath-room space, while the door from the corridor bangs directly into the cabinet door. Not particularly user-friendly…On the positive side, the room was sparkling clean, and the housekeeping attendant working on the 9th floor was very friendly - a great representative of the hotel. So was the always smiling member of staff assisting arriving and departing guests with their luggage. SO attentive, SO helpful and ALWAYS smiling. The smell in the corridor was luckily also gone the next morning (I hope I had not just gotten used to it). The gym is in the basement and has an OK selection of equipment. It is also open 24 hours for guests, which is great. But I am not sure about the air quality down there - it did not feel great. I am anyway happy I got my workout done. The night before departure, we tried the lobby bar, which offered a happy hour deal of 3 glasses of wine for 110 MR. When I asked what wine it would be, the bartender explained it was a chardonnay. When I asked where it was from, he explained it was from Chile and showed me a bottle of red wine(😬). When I pointed this out, he showed me a bottle of sauvignon blanc. Anyway, after confirming I could try both the sauvignon blanc and the chardonnay if I went for the three glasses, I ordered the happy hour deal and went for a glass of the sauvignon blanc to start with. A little later, it turned out the chardonnay was sold out, so sauvignon blanc was the only option. Not a big deal but also not so impressive…Finally, I think the hotel deserves a plus for the pool area, and the location is just next to a metro station - but I am sure there are many other hotels in the same price range that are better than this.     The staff!! Loved each of them. They were so friendly and so incredibly helpful 10/10. I'm sorry I can't remember all names but you all won't be forgotten. Prema, thank you for helping us with the grab. The room was very comfortable and the bed was perfect especially after a long flight. The shower was great and the view was good. The location can not be beat. We never travelled more than a few stops to get to KL tower and Petronas towers. Berjaya time square opposite. The food was OK. I would highly recommend the hotel especially for the staff and the location. Thank you all so much.     Super location. Walking distance to many malls and places of interest. Monorail is just in front. Room is nice and comfortable. Could have better sound proofing though. Shower water pressure is powerful. Front office staff are helpful and polite. That includes the security guard, room attendant and bell boys.
