    Nice hotel

    rating17 Apr 2026

Its a quite nice hotel. The gym is not bad with some technogym machines and a small pool. The rooms are spacious, although first ive felt smoke of, so i asked for a change. Then the new room had the same smell 😅 maybe it is the smell of the hotel. The breakfast is nice, quite many choices. The only problem: there is no towels in the gym, even no extra towel in the room. The security told me i could ask at the reception, which i didnt do at the end. Relina Sinaga, Owner at Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur, responded to this review Dear Class_trav,Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our spacious rooms, breakfast selection, and gym facilities. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the room odour and the towel availability. Please allow us to clarify that towels for the gym can be requested at the Reception counter, and our team will be happy to assist. Nonetheless, we have taken note of your feedback and will work on improving accessibility for our guests’ convenience. We have also shared your comments regarding the room smell with our Housekeeping and Engineering teams for immediate attention and improvement.Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back for a better stay experience.Warm regards,Relina SinagaRoom Division Manager

    recent stay

    rating16 Feb 2026

Dear manager, We are extremely disappointed with our recent family stay.Saturday(14/2/26) - Sunday(15/2/26).- Paid for connecting room but later was informed the room was unavailable.-air conditioning not functioning at 3am-no answer from front desk and had to call using Personal mobile phone to reach reception.-delay in sending to check our room conditions.-informed no technician on-site, a housekeeping attended instead.-had to change rooms at approximately 4.30 am with kids (aged, 6, 10 and 14)- 1-hour late checkout provided, but overall disruptions significantly impacted our family stay.We had booked and fully paid for connecting rooms via Agoda as we were travelling with children. A day before arrival, when we called to reconfirm, we were informed that the rooms type we had already paid for was unavailable. On Saturday (14/2/26), upon late check in-(1045pm), we were initially given separate rooms before eventually being moved to a joined room after further coordination. At 3am, we contacted the front desk using the in-room telephone as the air conditioning was not functioning properly. However, there was no answer. We then had to use our personal mobile phone to call the hotel in order to get assistance. There was a delay in response since they later send us a staff 20 mins later. A housekeeping staff attended instead, and it was later confirmed that one of the air conditioning unit was not working and we were informed there was no technician on-site. The suggestions they gave us was to provide A FAN.(mind you this is a 4star hotel)we then had to go to the front desk ourselves to ask for a proper solutions. we then had to change rooms at approximately 4.30am with kids and finally slept around 5.30am. Travelling with kids(aged 6,10 and 14), we still had to wake up early for our planned activities in the morning. The disruption significantly impacted our rest and overall experience. While we acknowledge the 1-hour late checkout provided, it does not reflect the adequately compensate for the early morning disruption, unanswered front desk call, and lack of overnight technical support. For a 4-star property, we expect accurate room allocation for paid bookings, prompt response to in-room calls, proper maintenance standards, and adequate overnight technical support. Unfortunately, this stay fell short of those expectations. We hope management will take this feedback seriously and provide a fair resolution. Davidde Ong, Owner at Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur, responded to this review Dear Taruggers,Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. First and foremost, please accept our sincerest apologies for the distress and inconvenience your family experienced during your recent stay from 14 Feb 2026 to 15 Feb 2026.We deeply regret that the connecting rooms you had fully paid for were not available upon arrival. This should never have happened, especially after you had reconfirmed your booking in advance. We understand how important connecting rooms are when travelling with children, and we are truly sorry for the uncertainty and inconvenience caused at check-in.We are equally concerned to learn about the air-conditioning failure at 3.00am and, most importantly, the fact that your in-room call to the Front Desk went unanswered. This is unacceptable and does not reflect the service standards we aim to uphold. Having to use your personal mobile phone to reach the hotel, waiting for assistance, and being attended to without proper overnight technical support — especially in the middle of the night with young children — must have been extremely frustrating and exhausting. We sincerely apologize that the initial solution offered did not adequately address the situation. Relocating your family at approximately 4.30am and only being able to rest around 5.30am is certainly not the experience any family should endure, particularly when you had planned activities the following morning. While a 1-hour late checkout was provided as an immediate gesture, we fully acknowledge that this did not sufficiently compensate for the disruption, discomfort, and inconvenience caused. Please be assured that we are taking your feedback very seriously. The matters raised — including room allocation accuracy, overnight staffing, response protocols for guest calls, and availability of on-site technical support — have been escalated to the relevant departments and senior management for immediate review and corrective action. This situation falls short of the standards expected of a 4-star property, and we are committed to addressing these gaps to prevent recurrence. We truly value your feedback, as it highlights critical areas requiring improvement. We would also appreciate the opportunity to connect with you directly to discuss a fair and appropriate resolution.Once again, please accept our heartfelt apologies to you and your family. We sincerely hope you will consider giving us another opportunity in the future to restore your confidence in our hotel.Warm regards,Davidde OngGeneral ManagerOakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur

    A Total Rip-Off — This Is No 4-Star Hotel

    rating11 Oct 2025

This place is a joke. I’ve stayed at Oakwoods in Singapore, Bangkok, and Hyderabad — this one doesn’t even belong in the same league. Calling it a 4-star hotel is borderline false advertising. The whole place feels dead. Empty corners, gloomy lighting, zero warmth. It’s like someone built a skeleton of a hotel and forgot to add life to it.Housekeeping? A disaster. They’ll pretend to clean — wash your dishes but leave them on the counter, hand you towels but expect you to hang them yourself. Since when did guests start sharing chores with staff? You’re paying premium rates but treated like you’re in a shared hostel. And breakfast… the final insult. They proudly serve machine coffee and have the audacity to charge extra for a fresh one. Apparently, $120 a night isn’t enough for a proper cup of coffee. What a joke.Save your money. Book an Airbnb. At least there, you know what you’re signing up for — and you won’t be paying hotel prices for self-service.

    Absolutely Disgusting and Unacceptable Experience

    rating09 Oct 2025

We stayed at Oakwood Hotel for two nights, and what we discovered on the second night was absolutely horrifying. After accidentally spilling some water on the bed, we removed the two layers of bed covers to ask for a clean one ,and what we saw underneath left us shocked and disgusted. The mattress was covered with huge, old stains of sweat and menstrual blood. It was clear these stains had been there for years. The mattress had obviously never been cleaned or replaced. When we went to the reception to report this, the staff didn’t even apologize. The Man at the desk said, “The mattress was covered with sheets, so it’s fine.” After arguing for a long time, they finally gave us another room , and guess what? That mattress was completely new and spotless. So it’s obvious that they give dirty, disgusting rooms to guests unless you complain and insist. This is totally unacceptable and against basic hygiene and hospitality standards. On top of that, the check-in process was slow and frustrating, and the staff were unhelpful and careless the entire time. This hotel doesn’t even deserve one star. Avoid this place at all costs!

Great Hotel for Meetings and Events!

    rating18 Apr 2025

I was there for a training but did not stay in their rooms so this review is purely on the function room and services. While all members of the staff were really friendly, welcoming and helpful, 3 things really stood out:1. Prem, the Technician who was also in-charge of the AV system. He was absolutely knowledgeable and cool in troubleshooting. I have been to many hotels for work purposes and must say this is the first time I've encountered someone like that.2. David, the person who gave the Safety briefing. As mentioned, I have been to many hotels for work and most if not all safety briefings are done either with the help of a pre-recorded script and/or a power point presentation. David needed neither and he was absolutely clear and entertaining.3. Excellent sound system. Crisp and clear. Mandy Ooi, General Manager at Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur, responded to this review Dear mcmeelo,Warm greetings from Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur!Thank you very much for choosing to stay with us and sharing your kind feedback following your recent training session with us. Although you didn’t stay in our rooms, we’re delighted to know your experience with our function room and services left such a positive impression. We’re especially pleased to hear your appreciation for our team members — Prem and David. Prem’s technical expertise and calm professionalism are indeed commendable, and we’re fortunate to have someone so dedicated on our team. David will also be thrilled to know that his engaging and clear safety briefing stood out — we agree, he brings a personal and memorable touch to what is often a routine part of an event. We're also glad you found the sound system to be of excellent quality — crisp and clear audio is a crucial part of any successful training or event.Thank you once again for your generous review. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for future events — and perhaps even for a stay next time!Warm RegardsMandy OoiHotel ManagerOakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala LumpurEmail: mandy.ooi@oakwood.clom
