    Convenient stay, too many issues

    rating27 Dec 2025

This hotel has a few strong positives, but also some serious issues that really need attention. On the positive side, the location is excellent, with very easy access to the highway and convenient proximity to Newton and Yardley. The breakfast was very good, and the breakfast staff was genuinely friendly, warm, and attentive, which was appreciated each morning. The rooms themselves were clean, and the beds were comfortable, which helped with getting a good night’s sleep. However, the rooms were also very dark, several of the window shades were broken, and the bathroom tub was pitted with rust marks, which made it feel worn and poorly maintained.Unfortunately, the negatives were hard to overlook. The hallway carpets were extremely dirty, and the area outside the third-floor elevator was especially filthy, which made a poor impression right away. The elevator itself felt unsafe, jerking on the way up and coming to a crashing stop that was honestly unsettling.Another significant concern was the strong disinfectant scent continuously pumped through the hotel. It was overwhelming and made it difficult to breathe, especially for anyone sensitive to fragrances or chemicals. When we expressed concerns, we were told the hotel is “under renovation,” but there was no visible sign of renovation anywhere to support that claim. Finally, while the hotel is pet-friendly, which many people appreciate, it was filled with dogs, and they were allowed in the dining area, including near the food and coffee counters and even sitting among guests at tables. Animals should not be in food service areas for health and sanitation reasons.Overall, while the location, breakfast, friendly staff, and room cleanliness were definite highlights, the cleanliness of common areas, elevator concerns, overwhelming scent, dark rooms with broken shades, rusted tub, and lack of control over pets in food areas made the stay disappointing. With meaningful improvements, this hotel could be much better, but as of now, I would be hesitant to return. Poor poorcondition. Needs complete refurb. Worn out furniture, hvac, bedding, flooring, lighting and bath fixtures. Loud ( not useable) hvac, super scary (did not use much) elevator. No inspection posted. Young man at the desk had zero answers or empathy. Suite shop prices were comical. Not up to Hilton standards. Luke Maida, Owner at Hampton Inn & Suites Newtown, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the condition of the room and the issues you experienced with the HVAC and elevator. Your comments about the lack of empathy from our front desk staff are concerning, and we will address this internally. We appreciate your input on our suite shop prices as well. Take the steps

    rating15 Nov 2025

Whoever decided to NOT replace the bathtubs when the rooms were remodeled should be fired. The tub floor has a bizarre curve that prevents you from standing securely. Thank goodness for the hand rail. On another note, please get rid of the air freshener that permeates the hallways. But most importantly, REPLACE that ancient elevator. I stepped into it to go down and the entire elevator wobbled. Thank goodness that it was only 3 floors. The second worse Hilton branded hotel location I’ve stayed at. Luke Maida, Owner at Hampton Inn & Suites Newtown, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your feedback. We genuinely appreciate your comments regarding the bathtubs and the elevator. Your concerns about safety and comfort are important to us, and we will certainly take them into consideration as we plan future improvements. We also understand your thoughts on the air freshener in the hallways and will look into it. We value your insights, as they help us enhance our guest experience.Warm Regards, Guest Relations Manager Hampton Inn & Suites Philadelphia/Newtown

    Ridiculous fees.

    rating19 Oct 2025

Arrived at hotel at 1:20 was told a room was available but there’s a fifty dollar early check in fee which I think is ridiculous. Obviously being a Hilton Rewards member for 20 years doesn’t mean anything to this establishment. Will not be returning. Luke Maida, Owner at Hampton Inn & Suites Newtown, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent experience at our hotel. We genuinely apologize for any frustration caused by the early check-in fee, especially as a valued Hilton Rewards member. We strive to provide a positive experience for all our guests, and we regret that we fell short during your stay. Your concerns are important to us, and we will ensure that your comments are shared with our team for consideration. We appreciate your loyalty over the years and hope you might reconsider visiting us again in the future.Warm Regards, Guest Relations Manager Hampton Inn & Suites- Newtown, PA
