  It was a truly pleasant and memorable experience, and I would like to commend the team for the excellent service provided throughout my stay. Especially hats off to Mr Sheikh Rahman, Front office manager for going the extra mile to make my stay feel more special. From Housekeeping to the Front office, everything was phenomenal, particularly the friendly and welcoming staffs.

  This was my second stay at this hotel. I booked a 1-Bedroom King Suite for one night in June to attend a function.The Room: Very spacious with a separate living area. The soundproofing is good, and the bath shower pressure is strong.Elite Benefits: Excellent Titanium Elite recognition. I received both complimentary breakfast and Executive Lounge access.Dining: The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of food selections.Logistics: Parking costs a flat rate of RM 5.50. The location is excellent, making it very easy to get a public ride to Kuala Lumpur's nightlife.   Afternoon Tea

  This is regarding the afternoon tea. It was by far the worst afternoon tea I've had after several hotels experiences worldwide, it is definitely not made by a chef or pastry chef. Not only were the items not freshly made/baked, they were stale, too hard, or plainly inedible. I was so embarrassed that I had invited 9 other guests to enjoy afternoon tea...I had to repeatedly apologize to the guests for the poor quality of food. This really ruined my image of the hotel as a whole. I never write negative reviews but felt like it would be a disservice if I did not post this one. The hotel should not even be allowed to serve afternoon tea, genuinely.In depth food review—Parmesan custard: grainy, tasteless, inedibleSeared scallop: very fishy but edibleVol au vent: stale puff pastry, definitely left in a fridge and/or a couple days old, barely edibleSalmon sandwich: bread was stale (also probably left in fridge), filling was okay (it's hard to mess up a sandwich...), most edible foodShrimp salad tartlet: tartlet seemed pretty-packaged (very hard), filling was interesting but but kinda grossLemon poppy seed cake: literally tastes like it came from a vending machine or a grocery store shelfEnglish trifle: this is not an english trifle, it was just artificial strawberry jello with a dollop of cream (no sponge cake or custard), it's something I made as a 5 year old kidBerries tartlet: pre-packaged shell, fruit was fine to me (guests complained it was too sour though), fruit should have had a sugar glaze...this is lazy workPetit gateaux: messy work (see picture), tasted horrible; I knew this afternoon tea was not made by a pastry chef just by the looks of this oneScones: literally as hard as a rock, definitely a couple days old and was reheated, flavor was fine as long as your teeth did not fall outLastly, the servers were definitely confused on the concept of afternoon tea, which I do not blame them as they probably did not receive instruction. They did try their best which I appreciate. Had to have repeated back and forth on how to serve tea (they ended up just bringing teapots for us to pour ourselves), and we had to request sugar and milk (which only one table received). The tea was also just tea bags, some guests received cold tea. I believe in improvement, here are some tips for management:Hire a pastry chef to curate and make the menuFood should be made and prepared daily, and not refrigerated leftoversTrain servers on how to run an afternoon tea (pour tea for guests, set up table with milk and sugar, ensure tea is hot)Offer special blend teas (not regular tea bags that every hotel customer can get from breakfast)Tea cups and tableware should be for afternoon tea, not plain white tableware that is served everywhere in the hotel Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel, Other at Sheraton Petaling Jaya, responded to this review Dear Lee D, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.
