    Disgusting! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

    rating16 Nov 2025

Ive been here 4 of the longest days I can remember. This hotel is disgusting, unhygienic, the practices of the staff are not upto any kind of standard. The day I arrived my kettle was broken, they changed it. I poured bottled water into my replacement kettle only to find bits floating in the water, so again I had to go to reception to complain and ask for another kettle, thankfully it was 3rd time lucky. Breakfast is a joke because they don't cook any food at this hotel, it's prepared at a sister hotel and driven over. If you arrive at 7am you're fine, but if you arrive about 8.30am onwards you'll find some items are finished, considering the variety is limited to start with, it doesn't leave many options. When you ask if they have anymore they say we'll send someone to the sister hotel to bring more, but it will take some time. Surely they know how many guests have paid for breakfast, and therefore how much food to order in to cater for that number of guests? My 2nd day here I find a letter saying the following day pest control will be coming in to fumigate my room, I've never come across this before. Is this normal? It doesn't fill me with confidence. Today housekeeping turned up while I was still in my room so I said go ahead do what you do. This man goes into my bathroom cleans it, comes out grabs my 2 cups I have for making tea and coffee, takes them into the bathroom and proceeds to rinse them and clean them using his bare hands, that minutes ago were cleaning my toilet, I felt sick literally. I checked his cart outside, he carries clean sheets, towels etc but no clean cups or spoons. So everyday he does this to everyone, not for a second realising how dirty and unhygienic this practice is.I've brought this to the attention and made a complaint to reception, had a visit from head of housekeeping who assures me I'll get clean cups/spoons everyday, and that she will call a meeting to make her staff aware this practice is unacceptable. I don't have any faith or confidence in this hotel and I have 10 more days here, I wish I could escape. My opinion on my experience is avoid this place and do yourself a favour

    Unacceptable Standards for Professional Events

    rating12 May 2025

Over the years, we have chosen your hotel multiple times as the venue for our training programs, trusting that the facilities and services would meet basic professional standards.Unfortunately, we continue to face the same recurring issues—particularly with the hygiene of the washrooms. Clean and well-maintained restrooms are a basic expectation for any training event, and it’s deeply disappointing that this concern has not been addressed despite multiple reminders. I am attaching the latest review I received regarding this, and I must mention that similar feedback has been shared in the past as well. Prior to this session, I had already alerted your team in hopes of a better experience, but sadly, the same issues have resurfaced.Another ongoing challenge is the payment process. It is incredibly inconvenient that you are unable to accept payments in USD, which forces us to convert and manage transactions in local currency every time—adding unnecessary complications and delays. For an international hotel chain, this should not be an issue. We have been patient and have continued to work with your team despite these challenges, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to justify returning to Silka Maytower for future events. We sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements—not only for us, but for all your future guests.

BUDGET FRIENDLY, BETTER THAN THE REST YOU FIND IN KL

    rating04 Nov 2024

Booked this hotel for 5 days. Got a room on the 28th floor. Must say the staff is polite n friendly. No doubt in that. Now coming to the location. It's prime opposite Jakel mall and close proximity to the markets, mall's etc, Full marks for that,.This place looks like one of the oldest properties in this area which badly need a revamp. They are selling only due to the location which is the only Trump cardRooms are small, cramped, damp fungal smell . Bathroom doors sliding with no bolt and does not close tight. You get the smell right till the room inside..floors lobby noisy. You can hear guests speaking in the adjacent Rooms.Crowd ,gentry here is more like a refugee camp.. mostly Bangladeshi and Indonesians,Tamil, Nepali, locals. Food in the Aroma of spices is cold soggy , Breakfast is good spread but cold, and just served for the heck of it. . don't people in kuala lumpur eat fresh hot food.. have seen it in other place tooo, Did not get a good cup of brewed tea in the entire hotel or cityOverall if you just want a place to land your seat with all your senses inactive, take it with no complaints. Most of the so called budget hotels are not upto the mark... In Kl... seen and experienced it...Enter at your own risk. Not to mention the cocktoach crawling on your coffee tray counters in the rooms!!!

    Good Value Hotel.

    rating17 Nov 2023

This hotel is good value for money. Central location near a bus stop and about a 10 minute walk to metro stations on two lines, also a slightly longer walk to the nearest KL Monorail station. The room I had was clean and comfortable and a decent size. The hotel also contains serviced apartments. This hotel was probably very nice when it was new, but some areas need painting and maintenance. The pool area was nice, however the paint was peeling off the walls. The hotel is three star, the buffet breakfast only one star. The limited choices and lack of real milk instead of powdered milk make this the worst breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. I won't be staying here again.

    Great Customer Service!!!

    rating04 Sept 2023

At first impression of my view it was Great Customer Service provided by Ms. Danya as Duty Manager at front desk. During I wanted to checkin, she try her best efforts to get a vacant room as soon as possible for me to checkin - as I know checkin time its 2pm. But thankfully to this beautiful heart to give me for early checkin. I like the way her smile. Plus, when B/F time i was greeted by a person a named Mr. Fad assisted us heading to a dining place with a great welcoming face and soft spoken as well. I like the way your talk. Not forget to Mr. Faizal for helping me to get an ice cube. I couldn’t live without ice. Thank goodness he get an ice cube for me. I like the way your passion. Everything looks great such an amenities provided, poolside, Gym, and conditioning of room. Totally i said it worthy with the price.
