  Bribe for breakfast

  Unfortunately, today we encountered an unpleasant situation at Somerset Damansara, a place we usually choose and enjoy, and because of this, we are leaving the hotel with disappointment. The incident we experienced was both humiliating and far from professional. This morning, my wife and I went down for breakfast and had a fairly quick meal, leaving a few pieces of bread on our table afterward. While my wife went to the restroom and came back, she noticed an Indian family collecting food using containers. She asked me to get a container so we could take the remaining slices of bread from our table. I then spoke to the person at the entrance of Lafayette Restaurant who, after much insistence, reluctantly gave his name as Rachat. When I asked about the container, he refused as if I were committing a serious offense, saying, "You ate inside, so you can't take anything out." When I pointed out that others were filling their containers to the brim with food and fruits, he replied, "They didn’t eat, that’s why." The irony is that after filling their containers, that group had moved on to plates—meaning they were also eating inside. When I pressed further, the staff member Rachat demanded a 10 RM bribe from me. That was the last straw, and I refused his request, reminding him that we had already paid for the breakfast. This incident deeply upset us. We hope the management takes appropriate action.   Amazing and Comfortable Accommodation!

  First time staying in this serviced apartment which is a home away from home. The 1-bedroom premier apartment was a decent size with a large separate living and dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The rooms are very clean and serviced daily with other facilities i.e. outdoor pool, gym and self-service laundry. Beds are very comfortable. Staff members are always very helpful 24/7. The apartment building lobby is very secure too as it is on the 6th floor which means it is only limited to guests staying at this accommodation>Somerset Damansara is also linked to The Starling Mall next door and you will be spoilt for the choice food as there are quite a number of restaurants, a food court and a supermarket in the mall. There are also many food choices outside and around the Damansara Uptown area.As for transportation, there is the Starling Mall free shuttle which takes you to either the MRT and LRT stations and 1 Utama shopping mall.It is a convenient and comfortable place to stay and will definitely be my choice next time round.   Somerset Damansara Uptown; a great place to stay

  What can I say about Somerset Damansara Uptown? In 3 words: Delightful, relaxing, comfortable.The 2-bedrooms apartment which we stayed for 1 month, is spacious, well maintained with a good size kitchen and washing machine, and the bedding is firm enough for a restful night's sleep. The staff were all pleasant and polite, from Punes in Sales & Marketing, the Front Desk, the Breakfast team, Security, to the Cleaning staff like Dabal, made our stay all the more memorable. The facilities like the gym and the oasis of a short tree-lined walking track (which was amazingly cool) kept us healthy. Another big plus is the excellent location next to Starling Mall and many other surrounding eateries and shops nearby.We will certainly stay Somerset Damansara Uptown again!   Nice room hotel with a dry kitchen inside and very spacious room.Studio with living room and working desk, very comfortable and nice location near by shopping center as well.The shopping center connect with the hotel and very convenient.Pool is quite nice and have a nice view as well.Recommend hotel.   Great location attached to Starling Mall thus there are many convenient dining options and even a grocery. Spacious, clean rooms with comfortable beds. Kitchen is well stocked.
