    Friendly Staff, Failing Facilities

    rating30 Apr 2026

My experience at this budget hotel was, to put it mildly, a tale of two extremes. On the positive side, Sajed, the frontman at the reception, together with a Bangladeshi colleague, were exceptionally accommodating and courteous. Their professionalism ensured that the check-in process was seamless and pleasantly efficient. However, beyond the front desk, the experience deteriorated rather quickly. One must, of course, manage expectations with a low-end establishment—but basic standards of cleanliness should not be considered a luxury. The room itself was extremely bare, and housekeeping appeared to be more of an optional service than a routine one. For stays extending beyond a day or two, guests practically have to plead for the room to be cleaned, which raises serious concerns about hygiene. While each floor is equipped with a water dispenser, the surrounding area was consistently marred by stagnant water and unattended garbage bags near the lift—left there for days, as if they were part of the decor. It was, quite frankly, revolting. To make matters worse, during the final days of my stay, the one and only lift in the building was out of service. This added a final layer of inconvenience to an already disappointing experience. In summary, while the front desk staff deserve commendation, the hotel’s overall maintenance and hygiene standards leave much to be desired. Even for a budget stay, this falls significantly short of acceptable.

    Terrible

We arrived at U pac late in the evening ready to check in. We were greeted by a man who was very rude to us regarding the amount we paid to stay there. He proceeded to print out my booking and point out how I had supposedly ripped them off and people pay a lot more to stay there. Given the hotel is half an hour's walk from any public transport, in the most run down area of Kuala Lumpur and the streets are full of rubbish and frequented with rats I find that hard to believe.Once the manager begrudgingly decided to accept our booking I was made to hand over a 100 Malaysian Ringgit deposit. This was not communicated to us before arriving and as we had just come from the airport we had no cash to hand over. In my naivety I expected him to allow us to pay the next day as it was already half 11 at night at this rate. Unfortunately I was made to go and find the nearest cash point which was a half an hour walk away and down some very dodgy alleyways. When I got back to the hotel dripping in sweat due to the long flight and extreme heat I handed over the deposit and was told that my reward for my efforts were that he wasn't going to kick us out the hotel. We were then shown to our room. Which looked nothing like the picture there was no window, a bathroom that flooded with every shower, and stained towels and bedsheets. I would have forgiven this had our reception been more pleasant but alas it was not.The one silver lining of our stay was the lady on the front desk during the day was very lovely and welcoming.

    Inhuman policy

    rating30 Sept 2020

In the evening of 1st of October ,it is pouring heavily and me and my family were stuck in the traffic for more than 2 hours. Both my kids age 10 and 12 need to use the toilet urgently and we are happy that we came across this hotel. Unfortunately both of the employees in the premises do not allow my children to use the toilet on the reason it’s meant for guest only. I have been travelling around the world both developed and undeveloped countries, I believe none will do the same. Even we were not the hotel guest ,as a Malaysian Im disappointed with the lack of compassion shown by the hotel inhuman policy.

7-11 in front of the hotel

    rating21 Aug 2019

For my 2 night stays at this 3 stars hotel was a good stay very value for the price paid with 7-11 right in front of the hotel so I could buy drinks there during the night. Bed was soft and clean. Quite happy what I got from what I paid for!

    Too far from the center

    rating31 Jul 2018

The room was big! It has writing table, two side tables, television, and very strong aircon/WIFI. Basic toiletries were provided. There's hot/cold shower. Water dispenser on our floor. A simple breakfast buffet if you wake up very early otherwise there is none for you. on the down side, the room is dimly lit, breakfast was short in supply by 8:30 am. the place is too far from center and taxi drivers would charge an arm to get you from KL sentral or anywhere for that matter to this hotel.
