The only negative thing I can say about this place was that check in took about an hour. But I guess you need to come prepared for that when you visit a hotel with more than 7 thousand room's. The experience was amazing. They have everything you can think of here. Since we wanted to do both indoor and outdoor parks and didn't want to rush we stayed overnight here. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a lavish spread. Plenty of eating options here. Lots to shop. Come prepared to walk since the place is vast.

Noise pollution.

The shuttle bus between Highlands hotel and 1st world. Mostly all drivers play loud chinese music. This noise pollution disturbs the quiet and serene environment in Genting.

Is it really a hotel?
10 Apr 2026
When a hotel employee, after you ask why check-in registration is taking more than an hour, does not apologize sincerely but instead says with a smirk that this is normal, and a whole row of front desk staff are just standing around doing nothing, wearing blank expressions and showing zero efficiency, I feel that the hotel’s general manager and front desk staff should all be fired, e.g. Birenda (sorry for the name and shame). At first I did not know why this hotel’s rating was so low. I booked it on Ctrip purely for convenience, and it turned out the self-check-in did not work, so I had to wait for manual service. I happened to run into a former colleague, who had also stayed there, and even after three days their room key still had problems. The room is not very big, but by three-star standards it is acceptable. The facilities inside are very basic. The cups are cheap plastic, and the TV is even smaller than my monitor at home. The bed had a moldy smell. In short, it is easy to go from simple to luxurious, but hard to go from luxurious back to simple. The hotel Wi-Fi never connected, and the mobile signal in the room was also often unstable. If it were not because there were no hotels here where I had elite status, I definitely should not have stayed here.

My experience at First World Hotel Genting was very disappointing.

My experience at First World Hotel Genting was very disappointing.First of all, the room was very dirty, which already gave a bad impression from the moment I checked in. On top of that, the hotel did not provide basic amenities such as toothpaste or even complimentary bottled water, which is something many guests would normally expect. The check-in process was also very frustrating. I booked the hotel online, but when I arrived, the self-service kiosk could not process my check-in. I was then asked to go to the kiosk customer service counter, but they still could not solve the issue. After that, I had to take another number and queue again at the reception counter. The whole process was confusing, troublesome, and wasted a lot of time. The service was extremely slow, and what made it worse was the payment issue. They could not accept card payment and only allowed cash, which meant I had to leave and find an ATM just to withdraw money. For a hotel like this, that is honestly unacceptable and very inconvenient.Overall, this stay was a very unpleasant experience. Poor cleanliness, lack of basic amenities, slow service, and inconvenient payment options made everything worse. I will not be coming back again.

Pathetic & Horrible Service
01 Apr 2026
The Hotel service is pathetic, had kept my sisters family (family 5 with 3 kids) at the looby for a very long time and claims that the Booker has to be present at check-in, nothing was mentioned about this whilst making the reservation on booking.com and after all the payments have been made and when the guests are at the lobby they have denied them from checking in, it is ridiculous because the booking.com states we can add the guests names who are checking in and reservations can be made on behalf of someone else. Everytime my sister tried to speak to someone higher they were denied and ignored.
