Lovely Hotel in Heart of Quito

We stayed four nights in the Hotel El Relicario del Carmen. It was very pleasant and the staff so helpful. Perfect spot for us to base our visit from as we visited museums and sites including Parque de Carolina and the Jardin de Botanical. Breakfast each morning was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our three night stay at El Relicario was great! The location of the hotel is fabulous, right off the Plaza Grande (Independencia). The breakfast was great, and the staff was flexible when we needed a packed breakfast to go for an early start. The staff was delightful and friendly. The hotel was safe (the door is always locked or someone is outside), the room was large and quiet, and the hotel itself is charming! Only concerning guidance is that the bathroom was very small. Equipped, but small.

We stayed at this hotel on the way and way back from the Galapagos. The position is excellent, a few hundred yards from the main square in the old town.The hotel is beautifully furnished in Ecuadorian style and is immaculately clean and very comfortable.The staff were very kind snd attentive. We had a late flight home and they extended our checkout time until the evening for no extra charge. I would highly recommend it for a stay in Quito.

We stayed here for 2 nights before and after a visit to the wonderful Galapagos islands. It is only a small hotel with few guests but the service was excellent and the interior magnificent with many antiques and interesting Ecuadorian art. Breakfast was good and it is very conveniently situated to explore the many museums and churches in the Old Town. There are many local restaurants nearby to choose from, often with roof terraces to view the lights of Quito at night.

I stayed at El Relicario del Carmen for two weeks while attending a Spanish language school. The hotel is exquisite - beautiful artwork, lovely furnishings, quiet. Its location only a block from the Plaza Grande is perfect. Best of all, hotel staff - Tarquino, Zoila and Alfonso - were so helpful. On my last day I had problems receiving the results of my COVID test and Tarquino came in on his day off and straightened it out. I cannot say enough about my gratitude for such service. I highly recommend this hotel.
