    Serious Security and Room Management Failure

    One of the most alarming hotel experiences we’ve encountered was at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru, Malaysia.After checking in, we entered the room assigned to us only to discover that it was already occupied by another guest. While the hotel quickly reassigned us to a different room, the situation became even more concerning later that same day when another guest arrived at our new room claiming she had also been assigned to it.This means multiple guests were being checked into occupied rooms during the same period — a serious failure in room allocation, guest privacy, and hotel security procedures.Beyond the inconvenience, the experience left us feeling unsafe and uncomfortable throughout the stay. Guests should be able to trust that their room access is secure and exclusive, and unfortunately that basic expectation was not met here.Although the staff attempted to resolve the issue professionally, the incident itself reflects poorly on the hotel’s operational standards and internal controls. Management urgently needs to review its room assignment and keycard systems before a more serious incident occurs.I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was serious enough that future guests deserve to be aware.

    Stayed at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru for a short visit. The room itself was acceptable and reasonably comfortable, though the carpet felt rather worn and could benefit from a deeper clean. The view from the room was pleasant and a definite highlight. Breakfast was very crowded during peak hours; however, the team did a commendable job replenishing the buffet swiftly. That said, the overall taste and selection were fairly average. It would be much appreciated if brewed coffee from a proper coffee machine were available instead of coffee from an urn. The hotel’s location is excellent and highly convenient, which remains its strongest advantage. Special mention to Khan and Sazzad for their excellent hospitality at the Reception.

    Rather disappointing revisit.

    Checked in for a two night stay. The last visit was some time ago. This time round, I must say we were disappointed. The room safe was faulty, called the room service number and they told us to call the operator. The operator said ok and hang up. Nothing happened. Later in the day went to the front desk to ask them again and they said they will attend to it. At the same time, informed the front desk that there were ants crawling all over the table and the bedside tables. The lady said they will get to it. So far no apologies at all. Went out the afternoon and in returning, the fault in the safe and ants issues remain. Luckily we caught hold of the housekeeping staff near our room and asked for help. This time, the safe was rectified.The ant problem remains to haunt us. So afraid that we will bring the ants home and infect our belongings.Would not recommend this hotel until the service level and pest control issues are rectified. It will be a while as training of staff, and the total eradication of ants is tedious.

    The room was clean and didn’t reek of cigarette or mold that I’m very sensitive to. I was given a room on the 21st floor so I couldn’t hear much of the traffic below. It’s located right beside KSL mall that I enjoy visiting for massage on a regular basis. Everything was in order and I would have given 5 stars if not for the attitude of the Chinese female reception staff who did my check-in. Her fellow colleagues standing alongside her were very courteous and friendly to other visitors- a sharp contrast to her attitude.
