  little tired around the edges but quiet and friendly staff. good wifi good showers, ample parking and it served our needs of a clean and quiet place.

  Uneventful Hotel Stay

  I chose M Roof as it was closed to my parents' house. I had stayed there before and it was good thus, returning to stay there again.Checking in was swift and good. Bathroom and WC was functioning well and everything was running smoothly.However, on the first night, my sleep was very disturbed! I was rudely woken by itchiness. Initially, I thought it was just my sensitive skin and went back to sleep. Shortly after, I felt worse and woke up to check and realised that one side of my face were bitten by some bugs. Thinking it was something that I might have caught earlier, I went back to bed. This time, I turned the other way to sleep and to my horror, I realised that the bed had some bugs which i couldn't see. It was a restless night throughout. Just as I managed to go back to sleep, there were water sound dripping - I was too tired to check this time.The next morning, I informed the front desk and insisted that I would want my room changed and upgraded but no rooms next to the fire exit. My request for an upgraded room was accommodated but it was located right next to the fire escape door! Oh well .. too tired to go downstairs and change since it was very late already.Second room - all was ok. There was a sofa in there which I daren't sit on for fear that it may have bugs too - paranoid.Shower area was horrendous - the area is tiny (if it had been a bigger person, he/she would have an issue moving around). Shower head was rusty and the hand held shower cannot stay at its position as the holder is already too loose. There is no door but a shower screen, thus the water spilled over to the WC area.Amenities in the shower area was not given - had to request. I had to ring twice to get the shower gel and the guy from housekeeping didn't look very pleased in sending the amenities.I don't think I will ever return to this hotel on my next trip ...

  We arrived here late afternoon and on the outside and in the reception the hotel looked good. There is a lot of parking outside which is good but there are two main roads around the hotel. Upon check in we were told that 5 teams had checked in for a hockey tournament and as a consequence food was simply not available, no breakfast or dinner. The check in lady said that was "okay" because we hadn't booked breakfast. The corridors to the rooms were not air conditioned which made them incredibly stuffy. On first glance the room was okay but upon further inspection there was a lot not okay. As others have said the fridge does not work and is incredibly loud as a consequence, the light inside the fridge is also neon bright. The air conditioning unit is clearly working very hard and was also extremely loud meaning that to sleep we had to turn both items off even with ear plugs in. As a result we both had a horrid nights sleep. The bed wasn't uncomfortable but the sheets were dirty and marked in places. There was only plug sockets on one side of the bed not both which meant phones had to be charged on the other side of the room. The floor was lino or plastic and had so many bubbles and rips in it that our luggage kept getting caught. The hotel isn't well located and you can't walk to anywhere for food or drink, e-hailing was pretty quick on the four times we used it so we were thankful for that. I will preface all of this by saying we did pay £45 however there's a travelodge in the same city which I would have preferred to go to.

  Ipoh Hotels do not give bang for your $$$. This hotel - adequate.

  Adequate. The rooms were just clean enough. The pillows provided were adequate. The towels and amenities provided were adequate.Wifi -adequate. If adequate is what the hotel is striving for then, it has achieved it. My sister and I stay at this particular M Roof Hotel on a monthly basis and to be honest, is adequate what the hotel is striving for?Adequate is the par for course at most (90%) of Ipoh hotels.

  Top of the Roof for Affordable Luxury

  I dont usually write reviews without qualifications. I am going to write this once. M Roof is worth it's weight in gold. Where else can you find a lux level new hotel in Ipoh at this price? The building is new, staff is trained, everything works. The three star building is the only problem, with lack of sound proofing of nearby traffic. But hey you are paying three star prices, arent you? The cleanliness is great, the lift works without ever needing to wait, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Book it. You will never regret it.
