  An incredible, luxurious retreat, with beautiful villas and perfect service - 5/5

  We stayed at The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat in Ipoh to celebrate a special occasion, and it’s honestly one of the most memorable and relaxing experiences we’ve ever had—easily 5/5 From the moment we arrived, the setting completely took our breath away. The retreat is surrounded by dramatic limestone hills, lush greenery, and natural geothermal features, and it genuinely feels like stepping into another world. There’s a deep sense of calm and privacy here—you feel completely immersed in nature, away from any noise or distractions.One of the biggest highlights was the range of wellness facilities. The natural hot springs are incredibly soothing, especially in such a scenic, tranquil environment. We also loved exploring the different facilities available —the geothermal steam cave, the sauna cave, the ice baths, and even the reflexology paths all for free. Everything felt thoughtfully designed to help you unwind and reconnect. The fish pool experience was a fun and slightly ticklish bonus, and the whole retreat encourages you to slow down and enjoy each element at your own pace.Our villa (we stayed in a Garden Villa) was absolutely stunning. Spacious, private, and beautifully designed, it felt like a sanctuary in itself. The outdoor area, greenery, and private pool made it very hard to leave each day—we found ourselves wanting to spend as much time as possible just relaxing in our own space. The attention to detail in the room, from the layout to the amenities, really elevated the experience.The food was another highlight. Breakfast was not just your typical hotel offering—it felt refined, with high-quality ingredients and a good variety of options. Everything we tried was fresh and well-prepared, and it set the tone for a great start each morning.What really tied everything together was the service. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and accommodating without ever feeling intrusive. They went out of their way to make our stay feel special, which made a big difference given the occasion we were celebrating.A few additional touches that stood out: the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the retreat is excellent, the atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, and the whole experience feels very exclusive and well-managed. It’s also perfect for couples—very private and romantic throughout.If we had to sum it up, this is the kind of place you go to truly disconnect and recharge. Between the natural surroundings, the unique wellness features, and the comfort of the villas, it’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave.We’d absolutely return without hesitation.   This resort takes the cake for service, food and beverage, cleanliness and service. My last dying wish? bury me there! Kidding. Not kidding.There is no place else I would ever want to be! Check in was smooth and effortless, after a quick signature we were whisked away to our villa by buggy. The Grand Garden took our breath away. With the backdrop of limestone cliffs, we had to pull ourselves away from the luxury of the massive room to go to dinner. Nothing could have prepared me for Jeff’s Cellar. This 240 million is an absolute fairytale. Warmly lit by amber lights, its tasteful furniture compliments this astounding space. The magnitude of it all was an experience all on its own. On the to food. The 11 courses dinner was plate after plate of flavors that fed the palate and soul. Chef Boon and his team are genius’ and true artists. Our server, Jo and the team were incredibly knowledgeable and such a delight to speak to. They paid attention to the most finest of details when describing the dishes and serving. The following days were spent lounging in our private hot tub, the hot springs pods and taking in the lush surroundings abundant with foliage and wildlife. We fell asleep and woke to the lullaby of nature each day. We indulged in the body ritual treatment at the spa. Spending 2 hours being scrubbed, wrapped and massaged left us feeling like jelly. I swear our therapists, Alcy and Mary, have the hands of Angels. Extra bonus: they were super sweet. It was only the promise of tantalizing food at the Pomelo that could get us out of the villa. Both dinner and breakfast at the Pomelo were delicious. Their menu featured a wide range of western and Asian dishes. Of course we over ordered and of course we over ate. Happy Vacation! Thanks to our server Issac, who kept the food flowing with a constant smile. Insider tip, the chef who is in charge of making juices at breakfast, Xin Yi is insanely knowledgeable. She knows all the benefits of the different types of juices they offer and even can recommend various flavor combinations. I have gone home with some new recipes up my sleeve. Honestly, the entire team couldn’t do enough. They checked in on us at the right times, ordered buggy’s ahead of time so we weren’t kept waiting and kept a steady pace of service. One of the stars was Raj, who not only took great care of us during breakfast at the Pomelo, but also attended to us at the On the Rocks bar. Man of many hats and master of them all!In addition, a massive kudos to Harrivien, the receptionist who assisted us with our late evening request with a super contagious smile and Adi, our buggy driver who could not have been more kind and cheerful. We were delighted to have been met by Marc, the General Manager of this magical resort. It is clear where the team gets their humility and genuine care. This place is truly a slice of heaven on earth. Go! Just go!   Simply stunning

  This is probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. It is simply stunning. From our garden villa, to the grounds & the food at Jeff’s Cellar we couldn’t fault it. We stayed 3 nights & didn’t leave, & why would you want to? The hotel didn’t seem overly crowded. The pool was busy if there were 6 people at it. Similarly at Jeff’s Cellar. We loved spending time in our Villa pool, then wandering the grounds including the caves, Dr Fish & an afternoon beer or cocktails at the bar in the rocks. We had visits from a family of monkeys including some very young ones which was lovely.It isn’t a cheap place but for the incredible setting, service from the staff & overall experience it does offer value for your experience.   We have booked three nights villa over lake and enjoyed every minute while staying there.   Luxurious hot spring resort in jungle idyll

  What can you say about this place? It’s completely remarkable. A luxurious hot spring resort with two good restaurants and free access to all manner of hot springs and caves (steam cave, meditation cave). The spa here is truly exceptional. We upgraded to a Garden Villa, which was definitely worth it. After booking an entry level villa we were offered the chance to bid to upgrade it. This worked out as extremely good value when successful. It had a private pool and a private hot spring bath. We stayed 3 nights, which is probably about right unless you are planning a full wellness retreat. Jeff’s Cellar restaurant is worth it for a splurge. All service was excellent - attentive without being overbearing. The best thing about this place though is the scenery - it absolutely feels as though you’re in some kind of lost world with mountains, bubbling lakes and monkeys and monitor lizards. One of the best resorts I’ve ever visited.
