  we stayed here form 2 night and the hostel owner is really friendly and helpful. He helped us a lot where and when to do and eat. The dorm is really comfortable and private. the cloth dryer area is open air. although wifi in dorm room and common area is really slow I still recommend you to stay here

  Convenient and cheap for George Town, but don't expect much!

  It feels a bit like 'Faulty towers' comedy in the UK :)... A bit like a prison setting but cheap price and convenient location make this a good choice if you're on a budget. Breakfast is simple but again, a nice extra. Don't go with much expectations and you'll be fine.

  We stayed 4 nights in this hostel, we felt very comfortable. We had a spacious double room with aircon & fan, for a very cheap price. Breakfast (bread, peanut butter, coffee, tea, jam, butter) is included, as (slow) wifi. The boss was very accommodating and gave us good pieces of advice, which was great. It's located near the Georgetown historic center, so everything is in a walking distance which is really enjoyable. Though, as our room was surrounded by common areas, we could hear everything in the guesthouse.

  We stayed in a "private" room that was terrible. Staff were lazy and stayed up very late talking just outside our room. The room was very hot, had no air flow and the bed was just okay. Previous guests had left some drink glasses that were not removed. Communal toilets and showers were just okay as was the free breakfast (toast and coffee). Don't be fooled by the word mansion. After we left this guest house we moved to Hutton lodge, about 300 metres away which was so much better (separate review if you're interested). There are so many better options in Georgetown: the people who own this place should not be rewarded by anyone staying with them. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get our key deposit back as the manager was not there at 11am, even though the guy who took the deposit was there. I don't think it was a scam to get some money from me, they are just not very good.
