    Modern with moderate comfort

    This hotel is clean and modern with basic amenities (no luxury features). My king room had a rather uncomfortable easy chair. The bed was comfortable and temperature control good. The A/C blows directly on the desk, so sitting at the desk it's not so comfortable. Only two thin bath towels, no hand or face towels. Location is very central, walking distance from shopping and restaurants. Staff friendly. TV received only a few stations. Overall a good value.The only major disappointment was the breakfast. Selections are very limited, and even "hot" dishes were cold everyday. My tip: book without breakfast and eat at the Dim Sum restaurant directly across the street or another nearby restaurant.Overall a good mid-level hotel for a good price.

    Cleanliness of the hotel is recommended. always the first choices during the trip to Penang. In the centre of the town, centre of all hawker food of macalister..15 min walk from komtar,keep up the cleanliness....

    Mei Hotel is convenient and nice. Clean hotel and security on lift and staircase. Without a hotel room card, unable to reach the level. Housekeeping given a broken glass on first night and we managed to get a change on the next day. Overall worth to stay this hotel.

    Affordable clean and comfortable hotel. It is situated in Abu Siti Lane, central George Town. Rooms are adequate in size and comfortable beds. Extra security in the hotel lifts as access is only available to hotel guests who tap their room cards before pressing the button for their floor number.Right opposite the hotel is a long established open air covered dim sum restaurant.Nearby in Macalister Road there are three hawker centres. Check with hotel staff as some of them may only open at night.At the Burma Road end of Abu Siti Lane are two excellent hawker centres : One Corner behind Penang Plaza is opened for breakfast. The other is New World Park, opened in the afternoon.Hotel staff are friendly and courteous.

    Hotel Mei Georgetown Penang A block or so away from the McAllister Rd food market.The location is key here, 20 mins walk away from the old fort and 20 mins from Armenia St.The hotel provided two room card keys to allow the aircon to be left on during the day.
