  Lovely hotel but dual entrance was frustrating

  We stayed here for 4 nights, and the hotel is lovely. Staff are great, really friendly and helpful. Rooms were really nice, great aircon, nice room, fridge, good shower etc. however the hotel is dual entrance and our room was right next to one of them. To get in and out you get a fob that beeps everytime you enter which was annoying. Some people instead of using the fob, had to enter a code which was even louder and more beeps. It didn’t put us off staying here but it was annoying. It would be good if they could silence the beeps. Other than that the hotel was lovely and we’d stay there again.

  Lovely! One of my favourite hotel experiences of all time. Stylish, beautiful interiors , helpful staff , airey and spacious rooms , artfully presented in one of the most central and vibrant areas of Georgetown. A real find, ideal if you want to be near all Georgetown has to offer and want personality and style in your accommodation. Such a pleasure to arrive back from dinner or drinks to shut the door behind you and settle in for the evening.

  Great location and beautifully styled building but lacks hospitality and advertised amenities - would not recommend

  Came as a solo traveller for a 3 night stay. Great location, close to Armenian street and other attractions, as well as many great cafes and restaurants. The lobby is well styled and appears to be a great place. However I had several issues during my stay.The bedsheets smelled of old sweat, were piling and felt quite old. Pillows were lumpy. My bedroom looked directly into someone else’s room (as pictured). Wifi did not work, had poor data reception in my room. Note the corridors are quite narrow, stairs are steep and unlit at night, and there are no lifts so careful with luggage! Staff were condescending and rude throughout.First night I had no hot water, thought it might be a one time thing. Second night, still no hot water. Notified staff on my way out on the third day, they asked when I’d be available so that they could send maintenance in. I explained I would be out most of the day, but was happy for them to enter my room while I was out. Returned home to find STILL no hot water. Went back down to reception to inform them, explained the situation to which I was met with “well what would you like us to do?”. I stated I would like a hot shower, followed by “aren’t you checking out tomorrow?”. Was told to go wait in my room while they sorted something out and someone would be up. At this point I was embarrassed, in tears, and waited nearly 30 minutes for someone to come.Lastly, on checkout I needed to leave my luggage while I went out before my flight. NO staff at reception, tried calling the listed number 3 times with NO answer. After nearly 10 minutes 2 staff showed up, one felt particularly cold about the fact I needed to leave my luggage - which is advertised as a service they provide.I understand the building is old and some things are out of their control - the hotel/room layout, stairs and corridors - however the lack of hospitality and basic amenities - clean sheets, working wifi (as advertised) - as well as condescending attitudes left a sour taste in my mouth - would not recommend to anyone.

  I really love the room, worth for money. It was really spacious for 3 people. Beautiful design !! But bcs this is heritage house please mind that they don’t have elevator

  Certainly rare - in the design of loft bedrooms giving a very spacious feel!

  The bedroom was in a loft, so the bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities & a minibar were down stairs. This made the unit very spacious with the bedroom having even space for a sofa (possibly a pull-out bed, but we didn't verify). However, a caution for older visitors who may not like climbing the stairs up & down to use the bathroom facilities, especially at night! The bed was definitely firm and comfortable.The whole property also does not have a lift. So unless your room is on the ground floor, bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floor will require you to take the stairs (so be mindful if you have luggage). I worked around it by leaving my luggage with the reception and just brought what I needed for my overnight stay to the room.The service was certainly friendly and accommodating. We checked in our bags one day prior to check-in because we couldn't bring our luggage up to Penang Hill for our stay there (on the furnicular train).
