    Sort the plumbing out.

    Arrived in the evening with a party of 8. We had some people booked sharing twin rooms and a couple fit their own double rooms. Receptionist had no idea which room had which bed setup in so we had to spend a good while trekking between each room to work this out ourselves.The rooms themselves are pleasant enough, clean and tidy.The one star review comes from the shower. All Ibis seem to share a similar problem in that their plumbing is terrible to the point of dangerous. My friend has to ask if I was alright after hearing me yell in pain when the water temperature unexpectedly shot up to scalding hot. It left red marks down my back and neck for the rest of the day.

    The hotel, room, breakfast was adequate, but there are work done in the hotel basement with VERY LOUD drilling on weekdays from 07:30. I complained to the manager, was promised a compensation, he took my room number, but never heard anything back. Not recommened.

    A basic Ibis style hotel. Its clean. Friendly front desk staff. Good wifi. English news channels on the telly. Breakfast is 12 € (from 06:30). Very easy to get to the city center of Hamburg on the U3 local train Line. Small local restaurants and large shopping mall in the local area . Aldi and Rewe supermarkets next door.

    Ibis Style a Simple but a Nice Hotel

    Stayed at Ibis Style Alster City in Hamburg during the Rotary Convention 2019. A good choice as it is near the Railway Station to the Convention. Also with simple neighborhood restaurants, next to Aldi Convenient Store.We arrived on June 1, when the weather was still quite nice, not to hot. We do open the windows at night, so the room is nice an cool. we like the simple breakfast selection and the the coffee. I can make my "kopi tubruk" orr collision coffee, just pour hot water to the fine grind coffee in the mug. Thank you for a nice stay at your hotel, to all the staff at Ibis Style Alster City.
