Good but they don't accept any credit cards in this hotel

Please be aware that this hotel does NOT accept ANY credit cards for payment. Expedia says they accept visa - but the notice on their front desk says they cannot accept any credit cards. Really bad situation when you find this out and don't have ready access to cash in Mauritania to pay for your stay as you were expecting to pay by visa. This hotel is centrally located, and secure, the suite room is large and bed very comfortable, however air conditioning is not sufficient for the larger size of this room. Don't stay in any suite room on the 2nd floor as it overlooks a school and we had a lot of noise from it one night. Breakfast and the food in the general is very good. A supermarket is right around the corner. The staff in general only speak French, so if you don't have your google translate ready or you will be unable to communicate. Special thanks to Drame who went out of his way to assist us. You need to keep asking daily for soap, toilet paper and things for the room as they never replace. Overall it's a good hotel for it's location and we would recommend it, but yet please be aware about the credit card situation and pay on Expedia or any third party booking site in advance.

Great boutique hotel in the center of Nouakchott

A surprise find on TripAdvisor with lots of good reviews so I booked this hotel during my visit. As what other comments mentioned it is a great boutique hotel located in the center of Nouakchott. The room is big, clean, a bit of luxurious European deco and the bed is comfortable. The rate is also decent as well. If I come to Nouakchott again in the future, I will stay here again. This quaint brand new boutique hotel is a haven in Nouakchott. Reception is efficient, my room was pristine clean and comfortable with fast Wi-Fi and all the facilities you would expect in a world-class 4 star hotel. The only drawback I could find was slow breakfast service. I will definitely stay there again when in Nouakchott. We stayed in a suite for four nights. Breakfast was ample but we missed our fruit. We dined-in on two nights and enjoyed the experience. Staff and management were friendly and any requests were promptly addressed. No hesitation in recommending the Semiramis. Small, modern hotel, nice spacious rooms, excellent staff

I stayed for 4 days. The hotel appears to be fairly new and has most amenities, and is centrally located. Well decorated. AC works well, and the rooms are clean. Very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel provides a free shuttle to get around town, restaurants, airport, etc. Breakfast was fit for purpose, as was wifi. The staff made it really worthwhile, and for them alone, I will return. well done to the staff.
