A Pleasant Stay with Beautiful Views and Friendly Service

    rating11 Mar 2025

We stayed at Azur Paradise for two nights with my best friend. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a welcome drink and a cold towel at the reception, which was a nice touch considering the warm weather. The check-in process felt friendly, but our immediate next impression was that the hotel has quite a lot of rules. After filling out the usual guest information form, as expected everywhere, we were also given an A4 sheet listing the hotel’s rules, which we had to sign. The hotel is entirely non-smoking, which is great for non-smokers who don’t have to worry about cigarette smoke from neighboring balconies. However, as we do smoke, we found it a bit inconvenient that smoking wasn’t allowed even on our own balcony. That said, the rooms don’t seem to have full balconies, but rather French-style ones. Our room on the 3rd floor had a stunning view of the bay, which we really appreciated. For smokers, there are designated areas at the SkyBar on the rooftop and near the pool at street level. The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the staff is extremely friendly. Both the small pool near the reception on the ground floor and the SkyBar restaurant on the rooftop are lovely places to relax. The location is excellent, with all essential services and the beach nearby. A larger shopping mall, a big grocery store, a self-service laundry, and other conveniences are within a 10-minute walking distance. A car is not necessarily needed here.

CON ARTISTS - AVOID - BAD EXPERIENCE

    rating25 Nov 2023

DO NOT STAY HERE. Damp, insects, con artists and unsociable hours noise pollution. We were threatened by police when their hotel driver conned us. They are money grabbers. They try to make you pay 7,000 rupees every day for disappointing packages they do not keep their promises. They try to fool you they think you do not know the island at all. They harass you at breakfast to buy taxi drivers packages for higher prices. Vinesh is the hotel driver and he is a CON MAN. Breakfast is disgusting. DO NOT DRINK FROM THIS HOTEL. We had food poisoning all week! Holiday ruined! Rooftop bar blasting music all night every night. Can’t sleep. Insects in our room. We got bitten by ants in our sleep. Damp issues in bathroom. STINKS. Unsanitary. Dirty toilet. They do not clean your room. They do not provide tea or water. Poor service. Disgusting. I will never return. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

    Not what I hoped for

    rating26 Jan 2023

I have so much to say about this place but will try to be as concise as possible.1, We paid for a delux king suite with "bay views", on arrival after travelling for almost 24hours I actually cried when we got in our room, it was absolutely filthy, hair all over the floor, & thick dust around edges of room and it smelt absolutely foul, the view was horrid so I went to reception and asked for another room, which thankfully they were able to accomodate.Unfortunately the other room offered very little in the way of a bay view much like the 1st, as you will see in attached photos "bay view" is a bit of a stretch of the imagination, yes we could see some of the bay but the view leaves alot to be desired. Grotty Buildings flanking either side of the hotel spoil the view and were actually quite depressing. The 2nd room smelt equally disgusting, like raw sewage but after already complaining and being drained we shut the bathroom door & cranked up the air conditioning, we endured this for 6 days due to the hotel being at capacity.2, The sky bar on the roof of the property as nice as it is, plays very loud music till around 2am, they had 2 private functions in the week we were there which was quite crap because we were not allowed to use the bar but had to be subjected to the noise till the early hours,& it was NOISY.3, There is a Portuguese bar basically next door that has regular late night parties, they are very loud!!4, We had breakfast included in our room price, it was supposed to be a continental style breakfast, 3 out of the 6 days there was hardly any food to eat at all... the coffee was so foul we would go to local coffee shop at 7.30am and bring to breakfast. We were there at 8am every morning believing that perhaps we had missed the good stuff by arriving at 8.30am our 1st day.Apparently that was not the reason.Had we known we wouldn't have wasted the money on the breakfast option.*you can request an omelette, this isn't offered but they are happy to make one (we think )5, Welcome pack & menus in room should be disregarded, was told in sky bar that "it's well out of date" after asking for items from the menu, and attending for happy hour that doesnt exist.6, Bed sheets were stained and gross, scatter cushions were so dirty I put them on the floor... attached images show how dirty they were.(To their credit they do come and change bedding every other day, but they are washed in a house behind hotel and hung on line so can see why they are not clean)7, The Bathroom was disgusting, the standard of cleaning was poor, algae and mildew all over the grout, & we had a massive crack in the shower screen. The smell coming from the drains was absolutely putrid, pure sewage. We went straight to the supermarket and bought a acme bottle of bleach and detergent to try to deal with it (sadly didnt work)The mirror needs replacing as was blown out behind.8, the balcony is more a screen in front of a patio window..... no way to sit on balcony sadly.9,The pool is a splash pool, a tiny kidney shaped pool with a few sun loungers situated at the entrance of the 'hotel' there is no privacy or relaxing to be done there, with a hair salon open to the public in the foyer next to the pool.10, We didn't have a single good nights sleep, this is the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in (and I like to party) apparently they are 'sound proofed rooms' that is an out an out lie.We were on the 2nd floor, skybar was 4th floor and we heard every single chair being moved, tables being rearranged and people pulling chairs in and out.I was literally at breaking point having run myself ragged to get on this holiday, travelling for 24hours and desperately needing a rest then 6 days of this hotel... we were booked in for 7 days but spent 2 days looking for alternative accommodation, we found a villa and checked out a day early. The rooms are in desperate need of a refurb.....everything is tatty and outdated. The best I can say is*the cleaning staff were very lovely and did the best they could, and made towel swans which was a nice touch.

    Last minute stay

    rating22 Nov 2021

After being badly let down with a holiday rental through air B and B we were recommended this hotel by our taxi guy. The hotel was absolutely spotless and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and although arriving late we were treat to the most fabulous meal ( fresh fish). Breakfast was fantastic and again, staff couldn’t do enough to help. Our room was cleaned and refreshed whilst we were having breakfast. We would highly recommend a stay here, food excellent. Staff fantastic and helpful. Hotel spotless with good restaurant.
