  We had a private function last weekend, it was amazing, very good atmosphere. Staff and service from FnB were great. Special thanks to the chefs food was awesome. Room was spacious and comfy

  Poor customer service.Hotel in very poor condition, pooling shower, water everywhere.No smoke detector in the room.Sewage smell around the property for days.Moldy room.Filthy looking bedsheets and blankets.Manager full of attitude, we talked to Ms Louis and she only gave excuses for everything and didn’t address any of our concerns. She said to write a report and send it to the management. Substandard food, they don’t even have a toaster.Chipped dinnerware.

  A Very Disappointing Stay – Not the Experience We Hoped For

  My boyfriend and I stayed at Cocotier Hotel for a full week as we planned this trip to celebrate his pre-birthday. Sadly, the experience did not live up to our expectations at all.We arrived around 18:30 and were welcomed by Corinna, who was a lovely and friendly lady. We were offered welcome drinks and wet towels, which was a nice touch and gave us a good first impression. Rodrigues is known for its warmth and hospitality, and at that moment we felt it.However, things quickly changed. There was no porter available upon arrival, so we had to carry all our luggage to the room ourselves.The room we were given was very old and clearly in need of renovation. The mirror had rust stains and, worst of all, there was a terrible smell coming from the sink. It was honestly disgusting. We reported the issue to reception and were told they would get back to us.The next day they proposed another room, but the one shown to us felt smaller and also had an unpleasant smell despite supposedly being clean. Because of that, we declined the move. Unfortunately, the bad smell in our room was never resolved during our entire stay.The restaurant experience was another big disappointment. The service felt very unwelcoming, almost as if we were disturbing the staff whenever we asked for something. The food selection was extremely repetitive throughout the week. At some point I even thought to myself that I would have been better served at home.Breakfast was particularly frustrating because there were no vegetarian options. I once politely asked if they could sauté some mushrooms for me, but the request was refused and I was simply advised to have crêpes instead. For seven days straight, my only option at breakfast was crêpes.Hygiene in the restaurant was also concerning. Stray cats and hens would regularly walk around the dining area while guests were eating, which did not feel sanitary at all. On top of that, some plates and mugs available in the restaurant were chipped or broken.During our stay we even experienced moments where there was no water available in our room, which was extremely inconvenient.What was also surprising is that during the entire week we never saw or interacted with any manager. There was no visible management presence and the staff were not particularly helpful when we raised issues.We had chosen this trip to celebrate my boyfriend’s pre-birthday, yet no one from the hotel acknowledged it in any way. A small gesture would have made a difference, especially since we were staying for a whole week.Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this place. At best it feels like a very basic lodge, but in its current condition it simply does not meet the standards expected from a hotel.

  My fiancé and I stayed at Les Cocotiers for 1 weeks in February 2026. At check in we were given cool face flannels and fruit drinks both of which were welcome after our very long journey. The staff are great, can't do enough to help. I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Cocotier Hotel from February 2026. My overall impression of the hotel was quite disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Unfortunately, my stay did not meet expectations. The service lacked professionalism, and several basic standards were not respected. Issues raised during the stay were not handled properly, which made the experience frustrating. Overall, this hotel does not reflect the quality it claims to offer. Improvement in management and guest service is strongly needed. Most of the staff were not courteous. Very poor customer care. More or less same food in menu everyday. Most of the food is finished before time and not replenished. At the restaurant there a lot of cold food, broken plates no hot water, no hair dryer available in the room, less channel in tv but on the good side, good room service honest people hardworking housekeeping/waiters and good welcoming. We expected a lot more than this. The reception team Corinna, Julia and Claudette who answer all our queries and was very helpful.
