Location

This charming beach hotel is situated in the south-west of the island of Mauritius. Quatre Bornes is an hour's drive from the resort, Chamarel Seven-Coloured Earth is half an hour away by car and Riviere Noire is roughly a 40-minute drive away. It is an hour's drive from the capital Port Louis and from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International airport to the hotel.

Facility

The resort has a lift and features 265 rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand and a TV room. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus. Bicycle storage is available to guests. There is a bike hire service as well.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and a fan. A welcome gift awaits guests. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. The rooms have a queen-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi are provided as well. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. Sport

Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool area (for a fee). A hot tub invites guests to soothe their muscles, and a poolside snack bar will take care of any hungry bellies. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A variety of activities are available at the resort, for example cycling/mountain biking and bocce or, for a fee, tennis, beach volleyball and golf. A number of sports are available, including water sports such as kitesurfing, banana boat rides, sailing, catamaraning, kayaking, snorkelling and diving. For a fee, guests can also enjoy water skiing, windsurfing, motorboat rides, paddle boating, canoeing, water aerobics and aquafit. The resort offers numerous indoor sports, including a gym, badminton, billiards, callisthenics and aerobics or, for a fee, table tennis. Various wellness options are available at the resort, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon, massage treatments and a solarium. The resort offers an entertainment programme for adults.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a dining room, a breakfast room, a café, a bar and a pub. The non-smoking restaurant provides high chairs for children. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board, full board and all-inclusive. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between a buffet, à la carte and a set menu. Special meals, including vegetarian dishes, are also available. All-inclusive holidaymakers enjoy special extras, including snacks. The chefs prepare delicious specialities during the show cooking. For guests, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included.

    Hotel was spotless clean staff were very helpful . Buffet food was on occasions cold not much variety. Special restaurants within hotel were excellent.Special thanks to Suraj Mauricio (hotel porter. ) for his kindness and service Nothing was too much trouble for him. He made us feel most welcome .

    We had a great holiday in Riu Palace due to the fact that the staff made the holiday. Never have I met such lovely staff 5 🌟 to you. From the cleaner, gardeners, restaurants & bars, animation, all terrific. Would not be nice of me to single one out, as they were all great. Lucky manager I’d say. Food was also very good, buffet, Crystal & Bangalore were used & 5 🌟 imo. My apologies to anyone missed.

    Absolutely excellent stay as always. Extra special shout out and mention regarding the above and beyond service with attention to detail from Vikish babajee (Assistant Front office manager Riu Turquoise) and Syed Zaheed (Assistant General manager)... It was an absolute pleasure to stay at your hotel.l and we will hopefully return again Next year after visiting ur new Phuket Hotel Hoping Vikish is adequately rewarded for the continuing support he gives not only the client but staff members alike, and hope to see him progress up through management as he justly deserves.

    Riu Palace Mauritius did not disappoint us in any way. The hotel enjoys a fantastic location and is exceptionally well maintained throughout. Guests have access to the sister property, but in our opinion, there is little reason to leave the Palace, as it offers everything you could need for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The resort is conveniently located about an hour's drive from the airport.Our room was spacious, comfortable, and modern, with clear signs of a recent renovation. The entire property was kept spotless throughout our stay.The dining experience was one of the highlights of our holiday. The buffet restaurant, La Riviere, offered an impressive variety of dishes and consistently excellent service from breakfast through dinner. The seafood selection was particularly outstanding, with the lobster proving to be especially popular. Of the à la carte restaurants, Krystal was our clear favourite, although we enjoyed all of them and found the food quality to be very good across the resort.The bars offered a wide selection of cocktails and premium spirits. We spent many enjoyable evenings at the main lobby bar, Le Morne, where the service was truly exceptional. A special thank you goes to Pieere, who was professional, attentive, and always welcoming. Vanish also deserves special recognition for providing excellent service throughout our stay.The only area that fell short for us was the Waterfall swim-up bar. While the drinks were good, the service felt average compared with the high standards found elsewhere in the resort, and we found Sarah to be less welcoming than other staff members.We were also disappointed to learn that bingo has been moved to an online format, as it takes away some of the fun and social atmosphere that traditional bingo provides. On a more positive note, the Cappuccino Bar was fantastic, serving excellent coffee along with a delicious selection of cakes and pastries.The beach was beautiful, with crystal-clear water and stunning views. However, we would strongly recommend bringing water shoes, as they are essential for comfortably entering the sea.Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return to Riu Palace Mauritius. The combination of excellent facilities, outstanding food, beautiful surroundings, and the exceptional service provided by most of the staff made for a memorable holiday. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone considering a trip to Mauritius.

    Beautiful hotel! Service top notch. The buffet was incredible. You have so many choices plus other restaurants à la carte however you need to book very well in advance at the moment of booking your hotel. We’ve booked the elite club and it was great choice
