Location

Situated on the west coast of Mauritius, the resort is 5 km from Flic en Flac, 22 km from the island's capital city, Port Louis, and 45 km from the airport.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 92 rooms. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The resort has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, 24-hour room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry, a page service and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service. Bicycle storage is also available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a TV, a CD player, a DVD player and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Guests can take advantage of the nightly turndown service. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a whirlpool bath. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The resort has family rooms, non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

The outdoor pool complex includes a children's swimming area and is ideal for working out or just relaxing. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. The resort offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including cycling/mountain biking, tennis, bocce, beach volleyball, volleyball, golf, archery, fishing and horse riding. With water skiing, windsurfing, paddle boating, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning, snorkelling, diving, water aerobics and aquafit available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. The surroundings of the resort offer an ideal environment for skiing. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, badminton, billiards, darts, squash, yoga and aerobics. Various wellness options are available at the resort, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon, massage treatments and hydrotherapy treatments. Leisure facilities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club and live music.

Meals

The dining area includes a restaurant and a bar. Catering options include half board and full board. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At breakfast and dinner, guests serves themselves at the generous buffet. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options, picnics and snacks are available. Alcoholic beverages are available.

    The location is absolutely stunning and we had a wonderful sea view from a standard room. The beach out front is gorgeous and great for swimming as is the infinity pool. Staff are wonderfully friendly and made everything run perfectly including the excursions we organised through them.     Our stay at Sands Suites was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing experiences ever. Besides offering a chill and calm atmosphere, the hotel is beautifully situated, providing a one-of-a-kind perspective of the mountains and the sea. Even though it felt a little outdated, our room (127) was cosy and quite clean. We made a good decision by choosing the half-board option, as it offered a perfect balance between convenience, flexibility, and cost. The food was very tasty, with several options for dinner and allergy-friendly meals available upon request. Last but not least, the outstanding service defined our experience, turning our stay into a memorable one. Our special thanks go to Selven, Sandy, Shiksha, Anushka, Kamlesh, Anshi and the rest of the team.
