Adjacent to the Plaza las Ameritas, the hotel is just around a 10-minute drive from the ADO bus station, 15 minutes from Cancun International Airport and around 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen.

Facility

The hotel has 105 rooms, including 4 suites, 30 single rooms and 70 double rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available.     This is NOT the hotel you want to stay at.

    After a long day at the airport our flight was canceled and delta Airlines put us in the city express hotel, told us there would be a buffet set up so we could eat and a buffet would be prepared for breakfast. Due to the small shuttles taking 10 people at a time since of is didn't get to the hotel until after 10pm, and we were told we could not eat that they were cleaning up, for breakfast I went down to the buffet to just grab coffee and they wanted to charge for that, coffee was not included, the other Marriott hotels in cancun include coffee just not at this city express. No biggie on these but the flooring is falling apart, the walls are dirty in the main areas, the staff is not very helpful. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Which is sad because we regularly stay at 2 of the other Marriott hotels close by this one that are amazing with incredible staff that is not the same with city express. I do appreciate their desire to conserve with a poster on the mirror telling you how much water is wasted in a 5 minute shower, but after my experience they come across as cheap skates. Delta airlines should know they did not deliver as promised.

    Aweful place to stay![Marriott - look your low standards]

    The worst place to stay.Don't fall for the MARRIOTT Brad added to this Hotel they are tarnishing the Marriott brand( i am sure Marriott does not care with the way this hotel is maintained).The bathrooms - water pressure in shower made the slowest to save cost, breakfast - i can't call it a eatable breakfast(Lowest quality packaged croissants and bread), The moment you enter the hotel reception you can smell stinking, thats all from few I could say , way more you will experience if you opt to be there.Good Luck!

    Room was clean, bed was comfortable but those are the only positive things about this hotel.I booked and paid via booking.com and upon checkin, the staff said I hadn't paid and needed to pay again even though I had the confirmation showing paid. After about 10 minutes of arguing, the payment "suddenly" showed.Their "free 24/7 shuttle" is a complete lie, it only actually runs occasionally. We called upon landing and were told it would be about 2 hours for pickup and they gave us 2 choices. 1. Wait or 2. Get a taxi and they would reimburse us at checkout. BUT, upon checkout, they refused to honor their promise.Breakfast was terrible and they seemed to allow non guests to eat at it because when we tried to eat the next morning, there were a lot of people who looked like either shuttle drivers or construction workers.

    My stay was comfortable, but I had an unpleasant experience with the housekeeping staff. At 9:30 am, they knocked on my door a couple of times, very loudly, and without waiting for an answer, tried to open it. Luckily, the door lock was on, so they couldn't get in. When I complained to the employee about opening it so early, he simply replied, "I was checking if the guests had left," even though checkout isn't until 1:00 pm.This struck me as a total lack of respect and security. They shouldn't open doors arbitrarily like that. The front desk only offered me a quick apology.I recommend asking for a "Do Not Disturb" sign upon check-in, as there isn't one available in the room.
