  Great service and very clean. Not the mega resorts that you are used to, but that’s part of the charm.

  Gorgeous little oasis on Isla Mujeres

  We liked so many things about our stay! Our family loved the quiet location on Isla Mujeres. The water at the hotel was beautiful and calm making it easy to swim or snorkel there. We brought our own masks and snorkeled all around the dock there and the old dock pylons. SO many fish! We saw a huge stingray, barracuda, and lots of lobsters (in the evening) as well. We thought the food was delicious, and there was a lot of variety to choose from. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially certain wait staff (our favorites were Hugo, Obed, and Arnold). Having the two pools and multiple hot tubs was nice, especially on our one rainy day. My sons used the fitness center each day as well. The hotel grounds and decor were lovely and well maintained. This was our first stay with an all-inclusive option, and it met all exceptions! We loved that it was a smaller, more-personal property. We didn't want the massive resort feel. Overall, we were extremely pleased and would definitely return and recommend it!The only negatives were:1. That there was no dividing wall between the section of the room where the beds were and the shower area. That was very strange to have no privacy for showering. We had to take turns being in the room for showers because I have 2 teenage boys, and none of us were comfortable showering in front of everyone.3. We booked the hotel on Booking.com under the name Eslendor by Wyndham (which it is apparently transitioning to be), but the signage at the hotel still says Hotel Belo so we (and our taxi driver) had a hard time finding the property when we first arrived. The address online took us to a vacant lot down the street and then we were looking for "Esplendor" signage but there is none. If you know you're looking for Hotel Belo, it's no problem.

  So, it’s “okay”. The good: breakfast was great as was the service. The “okay”: the beach is cute, but the swimmable area small as it has these large mounds and the sand adjacent is basically mud. The bad: the beds were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on. My back was killing me day 2. The towels are sparse and old. The checkout process was less than hospitable: our luggage was held hostage and we basically had to stay until they verified that the room and its contents were fine. The. They allowed us to checkout (and obviously they had our credit card information and a hold already on place). As frequent travelers, I’d give this property 3 of 5 stars and that’s probably generous. We would not go back.

  Basic rooms, very tired and dated limited menu in the restaurant, waiting staff were good and welcoming, reception was very lacking in communication when asked for help and information. Not the hotel we expected after viewing website and reviews, extremely disappointed and would not recommend to family and friends

  This hotel was branded as a Wyndham when we booked it. It is actually owned by a franchisee. We knew going in that the ocean access was not desirable but saw all the good reviews about the food and staff. The staff are all excellent and do their best to try and make your stay enjoyable. The food is really sub standard. Everything that should be hot is at best lukewarm. Soup should not be cold, mashed potatoes should not be cold. Four chicken wings does not constitute a portion for lunch. Our last breakfast consisted of tepid water for tea, cold toast, cold hashbrowns and cold waffles. This was after watching other guests that arrived and ordered 10 minutes after us get their meals. We also did not get milk for the tea or orange juice as ordered. If you are trying to eat healthy in any manner you are out of luck.Many guests were leaving to eat elsewhere. Some staff are wearing their street clothes.The hot tubs are cold and broken down. The rooms are inter-connecting with no soundproofing whatsoever and the door is not sealed so you even see the light under it. You can hear everything from the room next door. I mean everything. Now the response from the hotel will be that we should have brought up our concerns to the staff. We did. I also reached out to Wyndham and they brushed me off saying it was a franchise and out of their control. Spend your money elsewhere.
