    Chain and Padlock

    rating15 Jan 2024

A bit dingy. Cheap but not worth it. The hotel is near Mercado 28 a good souvenir and local food complex. That is a positive. When I arrived late it took a while to wake up the recepcionist. The front gate was locked with chain and padlock ! Not very good value.

    Has potential.

Not the nicest of hotels, staff does only speak Spanish. Pool is pretty but not clean looking. Market across the street is pretty noisy into the night. Toilet in my mothers room broke a couple times. You have to wash your own cups you get two for your stay. Overall I would pass but it does have a very authentic feel.

    Authentic and Economical

    rating17 Jan 2019

LIked this hotel. Used it twice in December 2018. It's one of those classic concrete wonders from the 1970s. Very basic here, perhaps too basic for many Americans. But if so, that is a shame . . . because it is in an authentic Mexican area of Cancun, very safe, friendly staff, and what I consider to be a great location . . . away from the tourism zoo out on the hotel strip. Walkable to/from the bus station (you do want to print a good map, though, because the roads around here curve lots). Why go to Cancun and just be around other Americans? Why spend $70-90 per night when you can have a much more authentic experience for a fraction of the price? This hotel DOES do something a little strange . . . it takes cash only (Mexican pesos). I booked on a website and, though it appeared that they might charge my credit card, they were honest and did not (I do wish their staff would write "pagado" on the receipt instead of "deposito" though). There's a great Yucatanese outdoor restaurant down the street near the Oxxo. Felt like I was actually in Mexico here. Loved it!

    Simple hotel

    rating14 Apr 2018

We stayed here the night before checking in to our all inclusive resort. It is a very simple hotel in downtown Cancún. The staff speak Spanish only and there are no phones. I would not stay here if no one with you speaks Spanish. The hotel itself is clean. For dinner we walked to the sandwich shop next to the Ramada Inn. They were delicious. There are other restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance.

Dirty and staff ripoff tourists without mercy

    rating24 Jan 2017

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! There are much better options in downtown Cancun than this disgusting dirty and unprofessional place. We stayed here for just one night as we were coming from holbox and needed to take an early morning flight. Everything went well until the next day when we found that the mattress cover had a brown spot with what looked like fecal matter or something. We didn't make a big deal as we were in a hurry to get our flight at 5am. But then I got riped off by the attendant..We asked if he could help us get a taxi to the airport and how much it would cost. he said that he could but it would cost me 350MXN and we innocently agreed. Later on I found out that a regular taxi would cost me only 100 to 150 pesos. The taxi driver had gone back to the hotel when he picked us up, so of course the attendant got a portion of the huge ripoff we got. Unfortunately this is how they all get the tourists in Cancun
