    Good place

    rating26 Dec 2024

Good and cheap place. I stayed here before my flight out of Mexico. The hotel owner allowed me to stay in the property during the next day to wait for my flight and leave my bag. The property has a pool (though water is cold there) and big yard. In the room, there is a tv and private bathroom as well as air conditioner.

    Very nice art deco hotel

My airlines screwed up my flight going home.So I had to take a taxi to this place which is not really in a commercial district area.Instead, it is in a typical blue-collar area and not much shopping or stores around, which was fine with me.Alfredo the manager there was very nice and directed me on how to go and get some food down the street, which I did. Then I enjoyed the rest of the afternoon in the beautiful pool. The next morning he was able to get me a taxi at 6 am and I got home to the States safely.Very nice place indeed!

    An authetic Mexico experience

    rating05 Jul 2019

As other reviewers have said, it's a little tricky to find by taxi but the airport taxi shuttle I prearranged by website had no trouble finding it at all. There are many taxi shuttles located in a proprietary area of the airport which is safe, honest and easy to navigate in English.Arriving at Mansion Giahn I was warmly welcomed. There's a small staff of people who had varies duties. Eduardo was my main contact as he spoke English well. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. In the morning there's breakfast in the communal kitchen and the staff cooked for all guests (at this time of the year (February), there weren't too many guests. Breakfast was a good opportunity to meet fellow travellers. This bed and breakfast appears to be an old mansion and it was interesting. The room I thought I had booked wasn't recommended as it was in the main building and the receptionist thought I would find it too noisy and busy as guests come and go. She then showed me other rooms in an attached auxiliary building and I found one that was suitable. This is a spot outside of anything touristy in Cancun and is probably an authentic Mexican experience - so, it is not luxurious by any stretch. However, there was air conditioning and they did keep the swimming pool clean and functioning. There are restaurants nearby (eg. Maple Cafe) and a village nearby with non-touristy shops. There is a city bus stop nearby for travel to Cancun's hub - the Mall Americanas. Excarat tour is not to be missed!

We just needed somewhere cheap to stay for a night, this hotel did the job perfectly

    rating10 Feb 2019

My wife and I stayed here for a night as we had an early flight out from Cancun Airport the next morning. As some others have pointed out, this is an old mansion that has been converted into a hotel by the family running it. It does feel a little unfinished. The room was clean and had a private bathroom and TV, and the hotel staff were nice enough to book an early cab for us and check us out before the sun had come up. Given we just needed somewhere cheap to stay for a night, this hotel did the job perfectly – although just note that not all taxi drivers are familiar with the hotel by name so you may need to give them the actual street address.
