  Loved the hotel and beach, food was the best all inclusive I’ve had in years with lots of variety.   Disappointed experience.

  Disappointed experience. Our experience had some good aspects, but also several issues that should not happen at this level.The good:* The entertainment team was excellent.* The kids’ care/activities team was also good.* The maintenance staff who came to our room during the night were also very kind and helpful.The problems:* At 5:00 a.m., a pipe in the bathroom ceiling broke while we were sleeping, flooding the bathroom. There were needed people enter and made a quick fix while our kids were still sleeping. A change of room was not offered. * A big problem was communication and coordination with reception. During the day reception had no information about the final repair and could not tell us whether it had been completed. We were told our room would be prioritized for cleaning, but it was still dirty at 2:20 p.m., with pieces of the ceiling in the toilet. It was finally cleaned around 3:00 p.m.* The room telephone never worked despite reporting it four times, forcing us to go to reception every time we needed assistance or Disappointed experience. There were not information if we can go to other restaurant in the hotel. * We found a cockroach in the room.* Despite staying three nights, is only posible to reserve an à-la-carte restaurant for one evening.Overall, the staff working directly with guests were mostly kind and helpful. The main problem was reception, communication, and coordination between departments.At this point, we are not asking for luxury. We are asking for the basic level of service, communication and responsiveness that should come with a hotel of this category.   Check in poor. Told to leave the members check in as she was busy. As soon as I did she immediately checked in Mexican guest behind. The girl who did check me in said a 3 bed room was not possible. I had a confirmation for a 3 bed room. Guess what when I got to the room it had 3 beds. Buffet restaurant was closed with no explanation given. This resulted in the themed restaurants not being available as advertised and buffet served in them. As for the snack counter. You can not go to it from the pool. You can not take food from it to the pool. So if you want to eat you need to leave the pool go to your room get changed and go all the way back. This place is nowhere close to the standards of European Barcelo. It is cheap for a reason but not worth saving the money. Go somewhere more interested in guests food was repetitive and low quality, warm not hot.   Stay far away!!

  This place was terrible! The food was awful!! All 4 of us hated it. The buffet doors are left open for all the flies to eat. The snack bar was leftovers that were out for a long period of time. The vanilla ice cream didn’t taste right some days. Maybe if you clean it will actually be good. Your maintenance staff never shows up..our phone didn’t work so we had to go the desk anytime we needed something. We sweat our asses off every night because of incompetent people not showing up.The drinks suck! I felt like a little kid with those cups. You should have plastic wine glasses and have them look nicer. I was 10 years old again.
