Had a great time, small mixup with the room but overall great experience. Food was overall pretty good and enjoyable. Entertainment staff made a huge difference and made the trip for me completely. Especially Rain and Allan who made the days and nights a blast every day

    Great Resort…ignore all the negativity!

    rating03 Apr 2026

We just got back from PH and we can’t say enough good things about it. We were there with several other families for our sons’ senior spring break trip. I was nervous based on all the negative feedback but it’s all what you make of it. Most of us booked star class and a few of us had swim out junior suites in building 22 (you get the afternoon sun between 12-4). Our butlers, Ignacio and James worked with us and two other families right away to book our reservations for the week. Things changed mid week and Ignacio and James made it happen. They are two amazing human beings. They went above and beyond to get us what we wanted. We didn’t get a dehumidifier but with the air conditioning it was just fine. It’s Cancun- it’s humid. Nothing felt wet in the room. We had pillows and some extras added because our son slept in the comfy pull out. We had hot water. No mold present. Housekeeping kept the rooms fresh daily. Leave a few dollars in the fridge with a note of what you want restocked and it worked every time. The lounge chair game is real and ridiculous. I did see security take things off 4 chairs day 1 in the early afternoon so our group snatched them. We had a couple chairs we called home base for our things because we spent our time in the water while the boys were out running around. A couple families upgraded to star class when they arrived and I don’t recommend it. They didn’t get a butler so there really wasn’t any added value. Book star class initially. Food and drinks are what you expect at an all inclusive- it’s tolerable and some is much better than others. Fuel is a great set up- I never experienced long wait times but I wasn’t there until after 10:00am. Their sandwiches are good- we grabbed a few before heading to the airport. The star class lounge in building 23 was perfect every morning to grab a coffee and some small bites (warm breakfast options, baked goods, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. if changes for lunch. They’ll make you any type of coffee and they have a fridge of water and sodas to grab extras if needed. Overall, we had an amazing week, just one day of heavy rain but we made the most of it. We made memories that will last a lifetime. Don’t cancel, it’s a beautiful resort.

    A great time!

    rating03 Apr 2026

We stayed at this resort from Mar 25-April 1st on the family side, non star class. 8 adults and 6 kids ranging from 5-11. This resort is huge with lots of things to do for the children. If you have mobility issues, I would not recommend this hotel as there is a lot of walking. I averaged 10,000-18,000 steps a day. One person from our party got up at 6am each day to reserve our pool chairs. It wasn’t ideal but we had to play the game so we could get 8 chairs together. We were in these chairs or the pool from 9-4pm everyday. They need more chairs around the pool to combat this problem. We only ate at the buffet once for dinner and it was fine. Lots to choose from and all the picky kids found a few things they would eat. I ate at the buffet everyday for breakfast… egg station takes about five mins but it was worth it. We ate at the Indian twice, steakhouse once and Italian twice. They were excellent. My friends ate at the sushi place and Mexican and also loved it. No one got food poisoning our entire stay. People have to remember, you aren’t eating and drinking like you would be at home so everyone probably will get a bit of dio or rumbly guts. This isn’t the resorts fault. Family pool only had hot dogs to eat but the pizza and burger place wasn’t far. You need to walk to the buffet if you want anything else. Lines are long sometimes but you’re only standing in them for approx 2-3 mins. Coffee shop lines are also long but they do their best in there and it’s worth it. Caramel frozen coffee drink from Fuel was by far my fave drink at this resort. We drank the purified water from the jug by the pool bar all week and never got sick. Bottles of water are hard to come by around the pool. You can ask for them at fuel if you’re worried about getting sick but it is a jaunt to walk there from the pool. We left money and a note in our fridge and got 4-6 bottles each day. I think they are just trying to help the environment by not providing every single guest with endless amounts of bottled water. It makes sense. We loved that the entertainment all started early. We didn’t have to wait till 9pm like we’ve had to at other resorts. We enjoyed all they had to offer during the shows. Get there a bit early so you get one of the comfy couches at the back. Our room had a pull out couch and a king size bed. It was very roomy. I was a bit cold the first night cause the bed did feel damp but I ordered a dehumidifier via the app and it was delivered within ten mins. It had to be emptied a few times a day but so worth it. I guess if you’re being extremely nit picky and looking at baseboards or something, then yah, it does need a bit of work. It wasn’t built yesterday so there are going to be things that aren’t perfect. My husband and son spent a lot of time at the beach building castles, searching for shells and digging holes. Yeah there was seaweed, but only a strip of it until the tractor came and cleaned it. If you swim in the ocean then seaweed will probably touch you. Also, not the resorts fault there’s seaweed in the ocean. I’ve read so many bad reviews on the Facebook site and this site and I just don’t get what people expect. It blows my mind how people think everything is going to be perfect at a resort that can hold 2000 people, during spring break for that matter. It’s going to be busy. Go during the off season if you don’t like lines or people. The kids played mini golf, went to the arcade and trampoline park, tried the surf thing, got their faces painted twice, got balloon animals made for them three times, went down the lazy river and slide endlessly, played at the kids splash park, played on the beach, watched a movie in the theatre, got endless amount of ice cream and enjoyed all entertainment at night. The kids club building was super clean, cool and there were activities every hour. I’d recommend this place to families who want to keep their kids busy. If it was just my husband and I going, we’d probably pick a smaller adults only resort. That’s just preference though. We had a great time at this resort and not one kid complained the entire week.

Our Butlers, Roy and Molly, were exceptional! Very helpful and thoughtful through out our whole experience, from dinner reservations to extra towels and water and beverages in our room! Thank you! Check- in, however was a bit slow as our rooms weren’t ready for us for two more hours. The game of reserving pool chairs was tough. The whole point to vacation is to sleep in if you like… but if you do, good luck getting a spot to relax at any pool. General Manager, Director General at Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton, responded to this review Dear Michelle,Thank you for your feedback! We’re delighted Roy and Molly made your stay exceptional with their attentive service. We apologize for the slow check-in and the challenges with pool chairs, and we’ll review these areas to improve the guest experience. We appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you back soon.Regards,Jonathan IriarteGeneral Manager - Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
