What a NIGHTMARE, RUINED VACATION. Book elsewhere.

    rating03 Apr 2026

What a NIGHT MARR What a nightmare of a stay.At 3:40 AM, I was abruptly woken up by staff banging loudly on my door over a false complaint of loud music. I had no speaker, was literally asleep and there was absolutely no music playing. Despite this, staff entered the situation even opening my balcony to “search” for the noise. They found nothing… because there was nothing. No apology, no accountability—nothing. Completely unacceptable. The rest of the experience didn’t get much better. If you want a place to sit by the pool or beach, be prepared to wake up at 6 AM just to reserve a chair. Otherwise, good luck finding anywhere to relax. Breakfast? Expect to wait in line just to be seated. Dining in general is frustrating—most restaurants have wait times of 2–3 hours. The buffet is hit or miss.Check-in was another mess. Long lines, no communication, no guidance—you’re left to figure everything out on your own by asking other guests. To be fair, there are some positives: the food itself was good, and the restaurant and poolside staff were friendly and polite. But overall, this resort is poorly managed and extremely frustrating to stay at. Based on my experience, this is nowhere near a luxury resort—I would rate it closer to a 3-star at best.I would not recommend staying here.

    Honest Review (but long)

    rating03 Apr 2026

We just got back after one week at the Seadust and this was our take from it.We arrived originally as a group of 8 (4 adults 4 kids 4-10). Check in was fast and easy, however, rooms are not available before 3pm , we arrived around 2:30pm and had to wait 30 min for our room which was not the end of the world , we grabbed drinks from the lobby bar. *** there is a $35 usd sanitary charge upon check in*** Rooms: spacious and clean , rooms are outdated but that didn't bother us at all. They fit our family of 5 comfortably, and we had a decent view of the ocean. Fridge was restocked daily and we had fresh towels every day. Water pressure is awesome and we always had hot water - didn't matter the time of day.Pool: beautiful views of the ocean, The water was refreshing, the music was good. The 3 tiers were perfect , the kids pool next to it was also great. The vibe was perfect.Like any resort, if you go down at 10am you will not find a seat, it's not just this resort it's literally every resort down south, if you want chairs by the pool get up early and get them. With that being said we never had issues getting chairs by the pool, the first 3 days we were a group of 8 (we grabbed 4 chairs for the adults) by day 4 we were a group of 12 (2 more adults 2 kids) we had no issues getting 6 chairs. Towels: we had no issues until the last day where they ran out. It's a bit annoying but it's hot and if you sit out you will air dry. Eventually they had Towels, it really wasn't the end of the world.Waterpark: kids loved it !! This waterpark has enough for the kids without being too big. You can keep an eye on the kids pretty much wherever you sit. They can't run off anywhere. We really liked it. You can also get towels here but they do run out as well.Beach: the beach was nice, it had soft white sand. The hotel does its best to clean up the seaweed but it's out of their control, the waves were also rough and red flags were out every day we were there. All stuff beyond the hotels control. We watched the kids carefully and didn't let them go too far out and they still had fun. The hotel also has a lifeguard which is nice.Restaurants: the first 3 days we were a group of 8 and never had an issue with waiting for a seat, as a group of 12 we knew it would be a little tricky so we aimed to eat around 6- 6:30, we would go down around 5:30 put our names down and grab a drink at either the midway or la Barra.Japanese: we ate here twice, portions are on the smaller side but the food is good.Italian: a bit of a longer wait for this one and the food isn't outstanding, it's ok but we went to the buffet afterwards.Steakhouse: our least favorite, we all had the steak (rib eye and flank) and none of us really enjoyed it. Again, went to the buffet afterwards.Manhattan: we went here 3 times, probably the best out of all the a la carte dinner restaurants. The ribs and pulled pork sandwiche were good.Mexican: open between 12:30- 4 Tuesday to Sunday. Hands down the best restaurant at the seadust if you can eat here every day, please do ! It was really good.Main Buffet: never had an issue finding something to eat for breakfast or lunch; food was hot, they were always replenishing dishes. If you can't find something to eat it's a personal issue not a hotel issueLighthouse buffet: went here for dinner a few times, not as big as the main buffet, they also didn't have as many options, I could see people having a bit of an issue at this buffet, however, I'm a picky eater and I still found stuff as did my kids. The staff: we never had any issues. Everyone was really nice and friendly, from housekeeping to waiters to bartenders. We also had no issues with timeshares or people coming up to us on the beach asking to buy stuff.Overall this hotel was great for our family trip. It wasn't big that you had to walk 15 min to a restaurant or to the pool. Everything is right there without feeling too tight. Our kids loved their "independence " when getting a drink at the bar or getting an ice cream or even going to see the iguanas. The hotel is clean, yes it's a little outdated. Yes, there are cracks, yes there is paint chipped on walls, it's a hotel that constantly has people in it. They do what they can when they can. It's a good family resort and we enjoyed our time here.
