    Not a 5* hotel

    rating07 Nov 2024

I really do not know where the reviews are coming from. The hotel is not 5* at all, rather a decent 3* hotel. Let's start with positive: the staff... they were friendly. Now the negatives: the room was quite worn off. Towels were ready for bin. The AC was so loud you could not sleep. If it was turned off, it was very hot. The staff (outside reception) does not speak English. The breakfast is very basic.I would recommend to give it a good maintenance to come to 4*.

    A true boutique in Merida

    rating12 Apr 2024

Beautiful rooms, walking distance to everything Merida has to offer. Well designed, clean, and an extremely friendly staff that are happy to help. I extended my stay an extra day, and they even helped me secure a lost item via mail. The pool and the terrace suite provide a respite from the heat.

    Great stay

    rating21 Nov 2023

The hotel looks nice and is in a good location. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. I especially want to thank Dayana and Alonzo from the front desk. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I felt safe even though I was a solo female. The only thing I could say was a negative is that the linen looked dirty or dingy but smelled fresh.

Towels like sand paper, and that’s the good part……..

We have returned to this hotel every year for four years. The obvious reason we’ve returned each year is we loved the place, but not so much this year. We arrived a couple of hours early before official check in. We asked if our room was ready and it was. The young lady at reception said it would be $200 pesos to check in early. We refused to pay the fee. This was not in place previously. The A/C unit in our room sounded like a machine gun firing non stop!! Staff knew this was a problem before we entered the room! It woke us up at 3am, and didn’t stop. First thing in the morning I went to the front desk and asked the same person for a new room due to the crazy loud A/C unit. At first she said no rooms available, the hotel is full. I then played her a video of the A/C unit screaming. All of a sudden she had another room. Being deceitful is not good customer service. I asked what time would be good for her to have us change rooms. She said noon. I said how about 1pm, and she agreed. My wife and I went out exploring and returned at 12:45 to get ready to move to another room. 1 pm came and went so I went back to the front desk and said we were ready to move. The same person (with attitude) said we couldn’t move until 3 or 6 pm. I reminded her she said 1pm was a good time for her and we returned to the hotel only for this reason. She said she never said 1 pm. I informed her we were on vacation and didn’t want to hang around for an unknown time waiting to change rooms. After some discussion reiterating what she said would be a good time she agreed to move us in 5 minutes. Again being deceitful is not good customer service Our first morning we ordered two coffees. The cost was $80 pesos. No bill provided. When we received it I tipped $30 pesos. The coffee was Luke warm. The third day I ordered the same thing. It came with a bill this time of $145 pesos for the same order. We refused it. As there is no menu for room service in the rooms it appears whoever brings the coffee makes up their own pricing. Also, they only provide in room coffee condiments for one person. On the fourth morning we were told only one package of sugar, cream etc per room per day. That meant only one of us could have a in room coffee! Ridiculous! Not good service. We felt nicked and dimmed here.In our past visits at this hotel we NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES!The front desk person needs some training on customer service and needs to learn to smile. We have recommended this hotel to friends and family, but will not in the future. No glasses, ice bucket, or smart TV in rooms. Towels are like sand paper. We travel a lot and this has been the worst experience we’ve had ever.We won’t be back. It’s unfortunate that one person(person working reception) can ruin a hotel’s reputation in just a few days.

    Clean, peaceful, good location

    rating30 Apr 2023

Clean, nice, modern boutique hotel in a good location a few blocks away from the main plaza. Pretty quiet. Staff are friendly, rooms are a good size with air con, flatscreen TV and safe. The standard rooms don't have balconies or sitting areas outside the room (upgraded rooms on top floor do) but there is a small pool area with a few lounge chairs and a sitting area where they serve breakfast (not included). Nice and recommended.
