    Nonpareil in Merida

    rating10 Feb 2026

After a dreadful Airbnb experience, we wised up and moved to the Fiesta Americana in Merida. Finding this sanctuary rescued our holiday, and I'll definitely stay at this hotel the next time I'm in Merida. Everything was absolutely perfect -- the accommodations, staff, food, location, decor, pool, gym. I haven't been so impressed by a hotel in ages, but this property rose to the occasion. Mónica Melgarejo, Director General at Fiesta Americana Merida, responded to this review Dear Guest,We would like to sincerely thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are pleased to know that, after your previous situation, you found in our hotel a comfortable place to enjoy your visit to Mérida, and that our rooms, facilities, location, food, and especially the attention of our team contributed to making your stay so pleasant.Your kind words motivate us to continue providing the service our guests deserve. We look forward to welcoming you again on your next visit to the city.Mónica MelgarejoGeneral ManagerFIESTA AMERICANA MERIDA

First time in Merida: So lucky with this hotel!!!

    rating04 Jan 2026

Fiesta Americana, Merida, offered us the most perfect vacations. We stayed for seven days. It was our first trip to Merida and the hotel we stayed in is a large portion of the trip having been an extremely pleasant experience. The personnel in the hotel could not have been nicer and attentive. They tried to accommodate to all of our demands. The hotel itself is imposing and magnificent as structure and as decor. The room was large and offered everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. The room was very clean and whatever we needed was provided. The bed was perfect, and the linen very soft. One of the worries we have about big hotels is noise, but that is not the case of Fiesta Americana, Merida, at all. Despite being a very large hotel and having a mall under it, the only sound we heard from our room was birds singing in the morning. I was very satisfied. We had access to the pool, and, even during winter, it was a great opportunity. We normally do not frequent hotel pools, but they made it so easy to use it, that we finish going to the pool every day in the afternoon. The hotel is very well placed. It is not in downtown (what is a plus), but very well connected to the historic center. A 20-30-minute walk by the most pleasant boulevard in Merida (Paseo Montejo) links the hotel to downtown. Furthermore, it is also linked to all part of town through the Meridan bus system (va y ven). After visiting all attractions in downtown, however, one only needs to leave the hotel area if one wishes. There are all kinds of good restaurants and coffee shops around. In Paseo 60, just one block from the hotel, you even find a bus to the airport (part of the va y ven system). Had we known, that is how we would have gotten from the airport to the hotel. Of course, Taxis are not expensive in Merida, and the Hotel has a list of prices for most places in Merida. They will help you with taxis, which are always available in front of the hotel. I cannot stress more, how pleased we are with Fiesta Americana, Merida. It helped us to discover a new great destination for winter time in the US, and we plan to be back next winter holiday time. Mónica Melgarejo, Director General at Fiesta Americana Merida, responded to this review Dear Mr. Luciano,We would like to express our sincere appreciation for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your stay with us. Rooms need some TLC

    rating02 Jan 2026

Nice hotel overall but the rooms definitely need some updating. The hotel is very strategically located to visit the city, and the service was very good. Stayed in a junior suite and the room felt old and in desperate need of remodelling. It turns out that you get charged for the Nespresso capsules which is silly for a hotel if this category, unless you sign up for the hotel chain’s membership program. Didn’t like that at all. Mónica Melgarejo, Director General at Fiesta Americana Merida, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. We sincerely regret that the assigned room did not fully meet your expectations, and we have taken note of your observations regarding the condition of the junior suite, which have been shared with the corresponding department for review and follow-up.We are pleased to know that our location and the service provided by our team were to your liking. Regarding your comment about the coffee capsules, we truly appreciate your feedback, as it allows us to continuously review and improve our processes and guest benefits.Thank you again for your comments, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back on a future visit and provide you with a more satisfactory experience.Sincerely,Mónica MelgarejoGeneral ManagerFiesta Americana Mérida

    Strongly to be avoided

    rating05 Dec 2025

This hotel is one of the worst I ever had. The rooms are depressingly dark and dated. On the Reception floor, there are roaches in the bathroom - not sure about my actual room yet (let’s wait for the dark hours ;-)). But the worst thing are their attitude towards guests and severe noise problems. I had called them before my Reservation to find out what I need to do to get a quiet room as I had read in the reviews that there might be noise problems and as I am a very shallow sleeper. They did advise me not to book a master suite as those are mainly going to the street, I should go for a Junior suite and ask for an “internal view”. So I did. I did write them again about this and did even call them five days before arrival to remember them about it. And at Check In I was telling them again that I need a very quiet room. All the time they were assuring me that I would have “internal view” and that this would fill my needs for a quiet night sleep. And in fact, I got a room with view of the pool. At first they wanted to give me one at ice level with the kids running around at the pool. Some might see this and easy access to the pool. For me, it’s a severe lack of privacy if anybody can run directly in front of my window. They did agree to give me a room on the second floor then.. But guess what? In front of the very thin and badly isolated windows of my rooms is such a loud noise of some AC aggregates that I at first thought, it’s a super noisy construction site. It was completely out of my imagination that their own technique would generate a noise hell for guests. When I did call and tell them about the problem, they knew immediately what it was. So they for sure get a serious amount of complaints about that. But hey - why to invest in some modern technique not bringing 70 db in front of the guest rooms, if you can just keep running down your Hotel as welll? Of course they did not have a room to change to - which makes logical that the guy on the phone who promised to get back to me after speaking to his supervisor just had me hanging on for several minutes to never come back in the line… Mónica Melgarejo, Director General at Fiesta Americana Merida, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us in such detail. We sincerely regret the inconveniences you encountered during your stay, particularly regarding the condition of our facilities, the noise issues, and the service provided, as we fully understand how important proper rest is for our guests.Your comments have been reviewed with the corresponding departments, and we would like to inform you that we are currently exploring viable options to address these matters in a timely and appropriate manner, including improvements related to soundproofing, room maintenance, and our guest service processes. This type of feedback is essential for identifying areas of opportunity and implementing concrete improvement actions. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. We hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust and welcome you back in the future, providing you with an experience that meets the standards of our brand.
