Very mixed feelings about this hotel. First, though a bit disorganized, the desk clerk was very nice and helpful. After a bit of a search, he assigned me a room almost adjancent to the front desk. Upon seeing the room, I was a bit surprised. The decor was ancient and the room tiny. But as soon as I closed the door, I found I could hear everything from the front desk and lobby. So back to the front desk.The clerk had no problem with my request but seemed to require much research finding a room. Finally, he told me he found a large room with king bed. Only one problem, no hot water. I accepted knowing in Merida the water is almost always warm.A huge room with very high ceiling and very comfortable king bed. TV channel selection very good and strong WIFI . While everything is very dated, the room was well maintained and very clean. Very friendly cleaning staff.I recommend for a quick stay in the center of Merida..

The hotel is dirty and the staff is stealing money from your suitcases. Considering there are no lockers or safes, you need to take all your valuables with you every time you leave the room.The breakfast is pretty poor, you may choose between eggs or fruit.The pool does not seem clean as well and it is better to be avoided.Due to our bad experience at the hotel, I would not recommend the place.

Hotel Colon, although in the downtown area lies in a dirty and smelly street. You can smell the sewers. No one of the staff members speaks English. From the first moment in the hotel we only had trouble. The rooms are dirty. The walls had yellow and brown stains. Sheets had yellow stains the size of a human hand. The towel in the room had a hole so a finger could go through it. The hotel smells like mold. The worst thing that has happened is that money was stolen from our friends. We could track that 110 euros were stolen, but we assume much more was stolen. Unfortunately most people didn't know how much they had so they could not know if something was stolen from them. The money was stored in their purses, which were in their travelling bags, which were locked. The money was returned to our friends after threatening to call the police. Hotel staff didn't want to call the police and didn't want to supply us with the video from the cameras. There was no safe in the rooms, so we were from that moment on forced to take all our money with us. In our room the door had a hole in it instead of a spyhole, so all the noise from the hallway would come into our room. Further more, we had no window in our room. The window was looking at the hallway. That was the third room we got. We had to change the first two because the room could be accessed from the roof which didn't belong to the hotel.

Hi There, Hope this review will be helpfull for you, I'm Antonio. I stay there from March 28th to 31th, I've booked based on comments, accesible prices, distance from downtown, pictures in webpage looked good for me, unfortunatelly when I arrived there my opinion changed totally. They have something they call restaurant (but I'll call dining room, because is not close to be restaurant) where they serve continental breakfast, at least in the morning is the only time when I saw it open, it was certainly a light breakfast, not enought for me, so I've decided to eat somewhere else. About the facilities in this hotel, they have a public bathroom you can use until you get your room, they have a living room in the lobby, near rooms in first floor and in front the restaurant, also they have an excellent pool (5.5 feet deep), it was closed the day I arrived and second day too, I wish they could tell me before I arrive if the pool will be closed to have a second option. Related to rooms, they are comfortable, beds are not too bad, they have clean service every day (inclused in price), TV, a small bathroom, Air condition. pros: they have a good location near of downtown (5 minutes walking) close to the Market Benito Juarez (10 minutes). Prices are not expensive are close to my budget.Contra: The phone in the room doesn't works, I have problems with my shower so I couldn't call to front desk so I had to go downstairs to talk with the guy in the front. the breakfast price is not enough with they serve, the pool was closed two days of my stay. Summary: If you are looking a place only to stay to sleep and also cheap, this is the good one. Close to the downtown.

The first impression was very good :Excellent locationBeautiful lobby and gardenNice people. But the room was not clean, contact lenses on the floor, 3 cucarachas total, my friend burnt her hand with the hot water in the shower and the swimming pool was out of order...À lot of disappointmemnts for the same day. But the price is low and you cannot expect too much
