Great location 2nd time staying at this hotel and I loved everything it’s walkable if you like to go for a drink or eat or just walk at paseo montejo that it’s right behind this property also there’s restaurants and entertainment right below of the hotel

An enjoyable one week stay

Our flight was cancelled by WestJet so we were one day late in arriving. The first nice thing was that the reception did not charge us for the missed day. Shout out to Diana on the desk. The bell boy Elmer was charming and helpful. We had a junior suite. The quality of the bed and the linen was first rate. The layout of the room was a bit strange. The TV was on a central divider which could be swivelled 180 degrees either to face the bed or the sofa behind the divider. The TV was fully enclosed so we were not able to connect our Chromecast. There is no balcony or window so you rely on the A/C to circulate air, but the room was able to be blacked out at night and was bright during the day. In the bathroom one of the sinks was draining very slowly and the other had a weak flow of water. We called the desk and within five minutes two maintenance men arrived and totally fixed both problems.Several reviews mention hot water. We found that by turning taps all the way to the left and then up was the way to access hot water which was hot as anyone would want it.The best single feature of this hotel is the outstanding variety, presentation and quality of the buffet breakfast, one of the best we have encountered in our travels.The location is right near the Paseo Montejo and above a Courtyard that has half a dozen restaurants and food outlets. It is about a 40 minute walk to the Plaza principal and cathedral, or an 8 minute drive

A Poor Experience in the NH Collection Hotel in Merida

We stayed for 4 nights. We were assigned to Room 321. The bathroom had several issues that were never resolved. The sink had a leak and only lukewarm water. The shower was fine. The front desk staff was polite and sent someone to inspect the sink. He did nothing. So we spent 4 miserable nights. Generally speaking the hotel looks fine but our room did not. Do not recommend. Will never stay there again.

Staff was great, but so many failures in the room - lost AC, leaking fridge, leaking coffee maker, failed TV, no iron. Room smelled so badly of mold & mildew it permeated our clean clothes. There is definitely a problem with management of the property, including quality assurance checklists and guest relations.
