  Beautiful experience

  26 Feb 2026

My wife and I stayed at the hotel a few days ago and it was an awesome experience. It’s a smaller place, but it has such a cool vibe. The entire staff was super attentive, and the food was delicious. A special shout-out to Denis at the bar—she was so warm and kind. Hope your knee is feeling better! We’ll definitely be coming back.

THEFT. Gross violation of lodging contract. Happened to Marriott Titanium member.

  06 Feb 2026

This hotel was a 5/5 until I checked out. That's when the problems started and they have yet to be resolved three months later. I had to check out a couple of days early and the hotel decided to penalize me an extra night which they didn't tell me about during checkout. Then they RETROACTIVELY INCREASED THE RATES on nights I had already completed. They were quite rude when I checked out early and wanted to know the reasons why but in a pushy and rude manner. Rather than asking me if everything was ok with the hotel, they wanted to know my personal reasons for having to leave early. The reasons had nothing to do with the hotel and the reasons were job-related.My position is simple.1) I will always abide by what is stated in the contract of lodging. But there is no mention of penalties. When I asked for their list of lodging conditions, they refused to provide one.2) They RETROACTIVELY changed the room rates. This is, in my view, illegal and in its basic from, constitutes theft. I trusted that the hotel would honor the rates of prior nights but they didn't. I have never, in 40 years of travel, had a hotel try to change the rates for completed nights. City Centro CDMX Gerencia, Owner at City Centro By Marriott Ciudad De Mexico, responded to this review We sincerely regret to read about your experience and fully understand how frustrating this situation must have been, especially as a Marriott Titanium member. Please accept our apologies if the communication during your early departure was unclear or did not meet the service standards we strive to provide. We would like to clarify that it is never our intention to apply improper charges or retroactively modify rates without justification. Early departure conditions and any rate adjustments depend on the reservation type, booked rate, and policies in place at the time of confirmation; however, we acknowledge that this information should have been communicated clearly and respectfully at checkout.Thank you for sharing your feedback. We value your loyalty and hope to regain your trust.

Great location, room with a few quirks

  16 Dec 2025

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this unique hotel that used to be a bank. A few things to note:1. Many rooms do not have a window - this I actually liked as it was nice and dark, making it easy to sleep2. The beds are VERY firm - not sure if this is just this hotel or if this is standard for Mexico3. The bathrooms do not have walls that reach entirely to the ceiling. So, you are basically completing all of your business (showering, using the toilet) in the same room with everyone else. They can hear and smell everything. Also, the bathroom light will light up the entire room and potentially wake everyone up during the night.4. Overall, the hotel is very quiet considering it is located in a busy area of town. We were however awoken very early 3 separate days by someone who was I think cleaning and dragging furniture around in the pool area above our room. Additionally, one of the nights there was a party around the pool area that lasted very late. If either of these may bother you, I'd recommend trying to get a hotel room not on the second floor.5. Overall our room was very clean and the maids kept it quite tidy throughout our 1.5 week stay.Although I didn't care for the bathroom situation, it would not be enough to sway me from staying here again as the staff, location, and cleanliness make up for it. Disappointed, would not stay here again

  25 Oct 2025

We stayed here for 2 nights during a quick trip to Mexico City. The hotel is very dark inside. Our room had no windows, except for 2 panels that opened from the entry door. Rooms are very small with no place to put suitcases. It had the feeling of a dorm room. The rooftop area is nice and the staff are very kind. City Centro CDMX Gerencia, Owner at City Centro By Marriott Ciudad De Mexico, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. The hotel is located in a historic building, which preserves its original architecture — this gives some areas and rooms a darker ambiance. However, we do have rooms with windows that offer natural light, and these can be requested or reserved in advance for future stays. We truly appreciate your kind words about our rooftop and the service provided by our staff, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again to offer a better experience.

  Great service and location!

  13 Oct 2025

This post is to recognize the truly exceptional service provided by Santiago, the Bellman. He consistently goes above and beyond in every interaction — always courteous, respectful, and incredibly helpful. In addition to his regular duties, Santiago often assists with Spanish-to-English interpretations, which has been invaluable to many guests, including myself.I’m not sure if language assistance is officially part of his role, but he has clearly become the go-to person for so many needs around the hotel. His dedication, professionalism, and willingness to help with even non-hotel-related matters speak volumes about his character and commitment. The hotel itself is a beautiful property with so much history, but it’s the staff — and especially Santiago — who truly make the experience stand out. I sincerely hope management and the corporate office take the time to recognize what an asset he is to the team.
