  Just checked out of this hotel after another city express canceled our reservation - this was the only reasonably priced hotel remaining in the city during Dia de Muertos.Four night stay: our first night we were assigned a larger room, but the air conditioner was not functioning and it was 85 degrees with the ac unit just recycling stale air. The hallway outside our room was at least 20 degrees cooler. When we approached the front desk they stated that they knew about the issue and there was nothing they could do and no rooms to move us to. The front desk agent did not care at all that the room was impossible to sleep in. We ended up having to sleep with our door open just to get some cool air in, having the hallway light in our eyes all night. First time in my life I have slept with the door open in a hotel room and I hope it will be the last.The next morning we went to the front desk and we were moved immediately to a new room with working air conditioner but no apology or any bit of hospitality at the front desk. The second room we were moved to was much smaller, very dirty, and extremely noisy with the road right outside our window. Even sleeping with headphones and white noise did not block out the sound. I have not slept in 4 nights and am extremely happy to be checking out.Gave 2 stars instead of 1 due to the location and decent breakfast. If you are looking for a place to crash for the night where you may or may not get any sleep, choose this hotel. Adding that I am Titanium status for any Marriott regulars, I didn’t mention my status at the desk because they would not have cared either way.   Wonderfully Surpassed all Expectations

  Everything about my stay was wonderful, surpassing all my expectations. Most important: the service level is excellent – better than most mid-tier service hotels by far. The staff are gracious, hospitable, and always find solutions when needed. 10/10 on service!Everyone I had contact with was wonderful, and I am sorry that I did not note everyone’s name, but a special recognition to Janet E. and reception and Scarlet in the breakfast restaurant. NOTE: I do not speak Spanish, and that was never a problem. Several staff spoke English, but those who didn’t were more than happy to use Google Translate with me. No barriers whatsoever, and always with a smile.For a hotel concept which is themed for scaled-down amenities and services, one would never know it: daily room cleaning (full, not abbreviated, and automatic, not “upon request” as so many American chains have started to do), a full hot breakfast which changed daily, a 24-hour front desk staff, 24-hour security who (given that the neighborhood is clean & safe) spend more time as ambassadors and doormen. There are laundry facilities on premise which I partook several times – clean and modern.The beds (mine was a queen) are new and comfortable. Air conditioning was silent and worked like a charm. Basic toiletries are all included in the bath, with more obscure items (along with snacks) available for purchase downstairs.

  Fantastic value for money in a great location

  We stayed here 5 nights while seeing the sights of Mexico City. The hotel is in an excellent location just a short walk from Reforma Avenue and walking distance to many of the sights. The hotel is a budget hotel but the rooms are very functional and super clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. My only complaint was there was no hairdryer. Breakfast was included in the room price. The breakfast room is a bit like a school cafeteria but the breakfast itself was fine with a selection of fruit, cereals, fresh bread rolls, cheese, ham, jam as well as eggs. Would stay here again.

  This City Express is perfect for an overnight business trip. The rooms are small but new and clean. The water pressure is good, and I was able to park on the street in front of the hotel for free. The doors are thin so there is a fair amount of noise from the hall and elevator. Good coffee and free breakfast. Cityjunior Sull...
