Great location in Barrio Chino, but don't expect to sleep well

    rating01 Jan 2026

Pros: LOCATION! Quick walk to Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mercado de San Juan en la Ciudad de México, and El Zócalo. There is a ton of delicious places to eat. Pastelería Ideal is a couple of blocks away and has cookies that are out of this world. It's a quick Uber/taxi to Museo Nacional de Antropología. Try to get there before 9am on a weekday because the line is long and it is busy as the day goes on. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and provides filtered water. Our favorite person on staff was stationed at the front door. Room prices are very reasonable given the great location.Cons: The hotel is soundproof from the outside noises. At most, you may hear music, but not street traffic. Inside, you can hear full conversations in the rooms next door. We were woken up constantly by people in the room next door and hallway. Housekeeping has their walkies on full blast in the hallway. If need a good night's sleep, this is not the hotel for you. The wifi is horrible too. This hotel is not recommended for those who are on business travel. We would have loved to book again just for the location, but after this one visit, we will be looking for a different hotel.

    Stay over from this hotel.

first thing I would like to ask you is that you verify the quality of the hotel that you are selling on your website, this hotel is not at all similar to what can be seen on your website,I was at the hotel for ½ hour, and I told them that this hotel was not for me, and I needed to cancel the reservation, they told me that there was no problem, that I should contact Agoda and they would return my money, free of charge. Upon returning to Canada, I contacted Agoda three times to request my money back, the only response you gave me was that you could not contact the hotel, and the hotel did not respond.Because I didn't stay in the hotel, it made me want to vomit when I saw the carpet, and the bed, of the hotel. no ac, no internet in the room, the furniture looked like it was from the 70s, the bathroom was in very bad condition, that's why I didn't stay and left the hotel,This led me to make another reservation at another hotel on your Agoda page for the same days, check on January 20 and check out January 22, reserve 694773886 at the Sheraton Mexico City, where I did stay. The hotel promised to cancel my bothreservation for free and did not fulfill what else is expected from a hotel of this type, this is a hotel per hour for sex, it is not for me.after travelling over 150 countries this one very bad and nauseating, disgusting, mafia is house, my apologies i could stay here and I have to leave after 1/2 hours and go to Sheraton Hotel .

Absolutely wonderful. Muchas gracias a todos!

A superb hotel in an excellent location.Staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating given my repeated checking in and out due to my complicated itinerary.I was especially grateful for my upgrade to a matrimonial room with a balcony when I came back to CDMX for good at the end of my jaunts around Mexico.Muchas gracias to everybody at MCH!!A few practical points about visiting Mexico City.If you want to visit Casa Azul/Museo Frida Kahlo in Coyocacan you will need to book tickets online weeks, if not months, in advance. There is no need to book online to visit the superb Museo Casa de Leon Trotsky nearby.Visiting Palacio Nacional entails registering at 10.00 [arrive no later than 09.30 to be sure of gaining entry] at Haciendaes Patrimonio in Calle Moneda to join an English-speaking tour at 10.30.

    Economical, Clean and Comfortable

Hotel Marlowe is by no means a luxury hotel, but offers everything you could want. The rooms are smaller but have a comfortable bed with nice bathroom and they are clean. There is unnlimited filtered water available in each room. If your objective is not to stay in a hotel room all day, this is a perfect option with a good location close to the Zócalo. They also offer a reasonbly-priced good buffet breakfast. ALEJANDRA GARCIA, Director General at Hotel Marlowe, responded to this review we're very pleased know tha you estance with us was very comfortable we hope to you come back very soon
