  What an incredible stay, From start to finish Selina Virreyes was amazing, and the experience is a 10/10, Free Walking Tours, Salsa lessons — a gorgeous setting, exceptional hospitality, and wonderful eats.   Not bad but not great

  I arrived late at night at came here as a back up, (the first place had their front entrance in a dark scary alley). So the building of Selina is cool, an old hotel. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. The place was empty and it’s not near anything. The front desk guy charged my $30 usd when their rates online were $22. No vibe here unfortunately., but I wouldn’t stay in centro anyway.

  Lack of customerservice, and false promises of refund.

  I came as a solotraveler, already been traveling 20+h and needed a room for sleeping before going to the airport and Flying back home. I paid in full for a private room, since it was all that was available and I was exhausted from traveling and needed sleep in a bed asap. My room was very warm, and I realised after some time that the aircondition/the fan in the room was not working. 3 times did I go down to reception and ask for someone to come look at it and was promised they would send someone up,but nobody came for many hours. I tried opening the Window, but it wasn't much help because it was warmer outside too and no wind. In the end a person working was just in the same floor and I asked them to look at the aircon, and then it was just made clear nothing to do to fix it. I went one last time to reception to ask about The situation and why it wasn't tended to earlier as promised, and due to all the other rooms being full, their lack of customerservice, they proposed and promised me a full refund for the bad experience. It's now been over a month since my stay, I've given them the benefit of the doubt to handle the matter, and I tried contacting Selina thru my booking confirmation Email about The matter, but have seen no response. The staff I talked with was unhelpful with a bad attitude, and told lies instead of offering to help me on spot, before giving this full refund promise. This is unfortunate, since I chose Selina in Mexico City, from previously staying with them both in Playa del Carmen, and Puerto Escondido, and only have had good experiences prior, but don't know if I want to reccomend anyone staying with them on other location when this matter is handled so badly in this location, with the staff just choosing not to help and lying in my face about a refund, it is unacceptable.If the management wants to contact me further about The matter, I was there on the 15th of March, and I have the confirmation/receipt Email that I can show for it.   Not a good experience

  The kid in the coffee shop and the manager at the front desk were great. The room upon entering was dirty, hair on the floor and covered with ants. The restaurant was a dark empty space with no discernable hours. The co working space was also dark and deserted. The daily events briefing were sent out at 4pm. Literally 7 hours after tours had left. My room was covered in ants and flying insects the entire time. Shower water was cold. There was a hole in the front door so everybody could see into my room. I asked to have my room cleaned by Day 3 as it hadn't been and there were ants and bugs everywhere. It took 4 requests and 3 hours before the cleaner showed up. She was so angry I cowered. Smashing around, refusing to acknowledge me. The kitchen was revolting. I was there for a week and could never use it. It was constantly filled with employees or locals. Wet floor, full of garbge, filthy, dirty plates, no microwave, no coffee, Stovetop was disgusting, couldn't even find a clean cup. Went in once to try to get a cup and the local refused to move so I could even get one. Cats wandering everywhere, employees taking up the common areas screaming or on their phones, common areas unusable due to this. There was no community atmosphere. Staff mostly seems to hate the guests. The restaurant was a dark empty wasteland. Despite working remotely and being there for a week, never used the coworking space. It was so dark and depressing. I did one tour to the Lucha Libre. Consisted of the guide pointing out a few closed food stalls and then leaving us at the arena to watch the event and find out own way home. Ridiculous. The place is dark, filthy, covered in bugs and ants, children, staff hanging out and not working, children running around. Besides the location, zero reason to book this place. So disappointing.

  It was quite disappointed, being the low season, the staff was very lean, bathroom cleaned only every few days. No food offers. The common area’s are dark.The location is excellent, but aside from that, I wouldn’t go back unfortunately. I was asked to communicate with Whats app and never got answers
