    Promising space with a couple of catches

    The space seemed well-furnished and promising at first but during my visit a large part of the building was being remodeled, leading to dust and noise early in the morning. The bathroom in my suite was not too well lit and the water in the shower never ran even close to hot, it was basically cold the first night. Emi, the person serving breakfast, was a standout, he was very cordial and helpful, and the food was delicious, though some kitchen amenities like the espresso machine were broken. Though the location is ideal for moving around and close to the Polanco area, I probably wouldn't return based on the inconveniences I experienced during my visit.

    Bait and switch

    We booked into the suites on Tennyson street but, when we arrived, we got shuffled to another site a few blocks away. Bait and switch. Kind of a boutique hotel but it was like they weren't expecting us. Grumpy man working the front desk. Room had no towels, no toilet paper, no glasses, no drinking water, no phone, no safe, no working wifi. Sadly we were prepaid for four nights so we had to stay. Poor maid service every day.

    BEWARE - They do not honour your reservation

    We had booked and received confirmation from this hotel 6 weeks prior to our arrival. We were willing to pay a premium price for a premium apartment. The confirmation letter described a 1 bedroom apartment with a balcony and outdoor furniture and a view. On arrival we were offered a smaller suite (not a one bedroom apartment) , a view of a cement wall, no balcony or outdoor seating on the ground floor. The explanation “ we are fully booked”! We were then brought to another of their properties (Hipolito) over 1 km away…an inferior property in a lesser location away from Lincoln Park.This apartment had mold in the bathroom, a malfunctioning toilet, broken lighting in the bedroom, no outdoor space, burners that did not work, dirty blinds etc. Photos are attached.Tennyson ignored my emails until we were leaving (4 nights). They never offered a solution and refuse compensation. I see that Tennyson can be an excellent hotel….But BEWARE…Others have posted a similar experience, so this is not a “one off”.

    I made a booking for two rooms one month in advance. The reservation happened to coincide with a local sports event. The receptionist and manager did not honor the reservations, and were openly peddling my two rooms to the highest bidder. Initially they offered to provide a “better” room at a different location then it transpired that it was just another lie to get rid of me and finally they asked me to cancel my reservation and find another place to stay.They are cheaters and liers. Be aware : just find another place and avoid being left stranded with no place to stay.
