Location

This hotel is located by a long sandy beach and is only minutes from the beach boulevard of Puerto Vallartas old town with its many shops, bars as well as restaurants. Links to the transport network can easily be reached on foot, located about 500 m away.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 200 rooms located in a 9-storey main building and a 6-storey auxiliary building. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. 2 lifts and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for no extra charge.     Rundown Hotel with Indifferent Customer Service

    This hotel is truly tragic. Upon check in we made our way to the room and were greeted with a powerful smell of raw sewage coming from the bathroom. We also noticed the ceiling was chipped and paint peeling. The walls were also splattered with an unknown brown/yellow substance. A/C barely worked as well. See photos for why. We complained to the front desk but our concerns fell on deaf ears. We called AMEX (who took the booking) 3 times to try and resolve this. They informed us that the staff refused to address the issue and when they asked for a manager, the staff hung up the phone. We also asked for a manager and were denied. We were finally moved to different room the next day which was slightly improved but we were very disappointed and appalled at the poor customer services and indifference to the dirty room they first put us in. Also, they only agreed to switch the room after we threatened to cancel - and only after they gave away another room we were suppose to move into. The pool is also in disrepair, and the water was filthy. Photos can be very deceiving. Two of the people in our party cut their feet at the pool area. Either from the missing tiles or the glass they allow in the area. Overall, a terrible hotel experience for the money.

    Room has a balcony with a view of employee parking. No WiFi in room. The staff accused me of lying until they came to my room and I proved it. But they don’t care and told me I could just leave if I need WiFi. Shower drips constantly so bathroom floor is always wet and slippery. No amenities in room. Pool is murky. Service in the beach is cash only but there is no ATM and staff do not know where to find an ATM. I will NEVER stay here again. You get what you pay for.     Fabulous vacation at the Tropicana hotel

    My husband and I stayed here for the first time for 9 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We loved the location and the staff were great. We had a standard king bed room with a beautiful Oceanview. The room shows its age but it was well kept and very clean. The bed was really comfortable. You have access to a safe that they give you a lock and key for. We booked our room with a breakfast plan and the breakfasts were decent. They gave you a special menu with the breakfast choices. The pools were great. Some days it was very busy so loungers can go quickly. The beachfront was beautiful looking out at the ocean. Palapas, umbrellas and beach chairs were available for guests. The hotel was clean and the property well cared for. My husband really enjoyed our vacation he wants to go back to the Tropicana hotel again next year.     My wife and I just got back from 6-day 5-night stay. We loved this place. It is older but was absolutely spotless. Best location in PV. We will return. The hotel staff is very friendly.
