The rooms need to be refurbished. Te curtais are dirty and the bathroom needs fixing. I asked for soemone to look at aircon which wasnt working and they said they would send someone up, but never did. Beds are hard and 1 vey thin pillow each. Kettle, tea and 1 sugar no milk and no teaspoon, so ater pointless. Mini fridge with nothing in it. Supposed gto be 4* I would rate 3* at most.

    It was ok

The hotel was clean we were on a B&B basis, rooms were cleaned daily and staff were friendly, I would stay again on a room only basis if it was available, the breakfast was mediocre, the food was slightly warm the continental breakfast was limited, there was some great local cafes/bakeries we ended up eating in every morning, the location was great the beach was a stone throw away from the hotel and the boardwalk along to the town was lovely and well kept,

The liitle thing make this hotel not a 5

    rating10 Apr 2026

Me and my family went to the Gran Hotel Costa De Sol in the south of spain, for 6days and 5 nights. The hotel was near the centre of La Cala wirh a wide choice of bars and restraunts. I liked the atmosphere of the hotel 3/6 of the nights had entertainment. The rooms were great but we had booked 1 double bed and one single, when we checked in and went to our room the bed was right next to the wardrobe so we did have to move it aparr from that everything was amazing with the room it was clean, perfect size, etc. We went 6 nights full board and it was great value but with full board the food was very tasty and plenty of choice. The noise level is OK but on a night if you dont want to watch the entainment and go bed it is pretty hard because you can just here the show down stairs. The staff were lovely the bar staff and nice and the restraunt staff make you feel welcome and the gym and the bar and oudoor bar were all amazing but the pool was cold. But the best bit is the view from ypur room i stayed on the 3rd out of 6 floors it was beautiful with sea and mountain views . It is the little thing that make this hotel not a 5 *. We went places around the hotel and was plenty to do we went to the olivas bar it was nice with great food and sai indian which is worth a visit.

    Lovely Hotel in great location

Recently stayed here for a week and enjoyed my stay. Reception staff all very friendly and helpful. My room was perfect for my needs. Good sized bathroom. Decent balcony with table and chairs and a nice sea view. Room was spotless. Lots of storage space and electric sockets. Great fridge that was quiet and kept everything really cool. Bed was comfy with clean good quality linen. Cleaned everyday. Fresh towels daily and a linen change after three days. Friendly maid. I was there for b&b only. The amount of foods available were abundant. Lots of cooked items, pastries, cheeses, meats , cereals and breads. Freshly cooked eggs and bacon available. The lady at the front desk was always smiling and friendly. The inside bar area was rarely open during the day as they preferred ppl to use the poolside bar. A few days it was too cool and windy to sit out so I ventured to cafes in the town about 5 minutes walk away. Friendly bar staff inside and out…..except for one man about 50 years old. Very rude and grumpy. Other bar staff said he’s always like that. There was entertainment on one of the nights I was there. A lady singer. I wasn’t impressed as she was obviously miming to pre recorded songs. I didn’t stay long. Pool area very nice and lots of sunbeds available. Beach out of action though as sand shifting was taking place. I loved the little town. Lots of very good restaurants and cafes. Had a very good week there and will definitely return next year but later in the year when the weather is more stable.
