  This hotel is a ok hotel. The staff was friendly. To get to the 3rd floor you have to walk, there is no elevator. No hot water to shower with. They charge a breakfast fee that I wasn’t aware of when I booked my reservation. The breakfast was subpar at best. I wouldn’t have booked here if that was the case. It wasn’t the worst but not the greatest for the price for night.   Website Not as Transparent as You Think - Beware!

  I booked a deluxe Junior room on via American Express Travel for $135 USD for 2 nights just 10 months prior to the hotel stay in January. Upon check, the staff did not have it organized in the system that I had already paid. So they tried to charge me again for the room but even more than what I already paid $150 USD many months prior. Luckily, I had to email them my proof of payment from American Express Travel. Not sure if it was scam or miscommunication on their part. This made things take a buit longer at check in. So it is clear that they are not in transparent communication with their partners in sales. As many other reviews had mentioned, the rooms do not look at all like the pics posted on the site. The pictures make it look clean, sheik and boutiquie. In reality this is not the case, it’s an outdated and slowly eroding hotel. The keyless card pin entry was faulty too. The battery was low. Further, the ‘‘La Martina Club’ partnership (exclusive free access to our beach club La Martina (sun bed included!)’ is a fraudulent trap offered on their website. They use this as an excuse for you to pay thier 120 MXN peso daily resort fee. It is far from free. In reality, you get free access and a free bed with a minimum spend of 800 MXN pesos ($50 USD). So in the end, it’s not a free sun bed or free access because you are not free to spend on what and how much you want to consume. You are spending at least $50 USD on drinks or food. The only good thing was the free included breakfast from 8:00 AM 0 10:00 AM which had many vegan and vegetarian items and no meat items. This is great because I eat plant-based but if you are a meat eater you might be disappointed. Additional Fees you should be aware of Resort fee: MXN 120 ($7.50 USD) per person per night but they are at least transparent about this on the Aruma Hotel website and at the time of booking with their partner in slaes, American Express Travel.The resort fee includes:* Breakfast (IN REALITY, True!)* Partner property beach club access (IN REALITY, False!!   Didn’t and wouldn’t clean the room from previous stay and refused to refund my money

  DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I booked this hotel in March of 2023 for a reservation in May 2023 because as a solo female traveller, arriving in the evening, I did not want to be without an accommodation. When I arrived, the hotel “could not find my reservation” although it had already been confirmed. After 15 minutes, they stayed the found the reservation and gave me a code to the room. Once I arrived to the 4th floor (no elevators on site), the code did not work. The front desk staff went up to the room to reset the lock, where we both discovered that the room had not been cleaned. The sheets were dirty, the trash cans full, the toilet dirty, the a/c controller missing, etc. Extremely appalled, I asked the staff when they could come and clean the room since it was now 9:30PM, he said the cleaning staff was unavailable, and that was the last room they had leaving me without housing in a foreign country at 9:30PM. The manager (Oscar) responded to my message informing him of the situation hours later, and asked if I wanted to stay at a sister hotel (by then I had booked at another place for obvious reasons). He understood, and stated to call my credit card company so they could begin the refund. It is now almost July, and Oscar/Aruma hotel staff have told my credit card company they are not approving a refund, although they had already approved it since I was unable to stay at the hotel for their own fault. They have offered accommodations in September, of which I am uninterested, because the hotel is disgusting. Save yourself a headache, disgust, and money, and stay absolutely anywhere else!!

  Hidden gem in the center!

  I booked this place after a really bad experience with another hotel in PDC. It is a little hidden gem! Perfect location, close to everything but still quiet in the room. The room was spacious and the AC great. All of the staff was super nice. The small pool area on the rooftop was also great. Only minus was that the internet was not properly working but it’s not an absolute deal breaker. Absolutely recommend!!

  Great hotel, boutique type. Right in the heart of playa. If you like to visit nightclubs and restaurants you will not find better location.Rooms are very clean, gentle staff, and the hotel has a small a cozy pool in the roof top.Very recommended.
