Terrible- pay more and be somewhere more central in Playa De Carman

    rating09 May 2026

Off a busy highway- can heat over the loud air con in the room. Middle of nowhere. Receptionists don't speak English. Intermittent WiFi and 'breakfast' is a joke. Pool is the only good thing about this hotel.

    Honest review Feb 2026

    rating18 Feb 2026

Just got back from Casa Kaoba, was travelling with 2 teenage daughters. Booked the room with the plunge pool… the pool was dirty and it was on the same level as the bedroom so the whole place smelled like chlorine… I requested a new room which we got the next day…another 2 story room ( I believe all their rooms are 2 story)…definitely not for anyone with mobility issues.. the stairs are narrow, curved, very hard to get the suitcases up there.. I was struggling. I asked for an iron and received one after 2 days after asking multiple times ( hotel website states you can get iron and ironing board per request)… no ironing board.. I had to iron on the bed. No hooks in the rooms to hang stuff. Rooms are outdated… shower head so rusty it was spraying in every direction ( both rooms). No hand soap in the bathroom. I didn’t have any patio outside in both rooms.. nothing to sit on. Pool area was run down, no waterfall working… totally different than what’s on the pictures. Breakfast that was included was a joke… omelette with some beans and couple of tortillas or couple of pancakes.. we got raw ones one day.. not cooked properly. Staff is not friendly at all, don’t speak English just simple things like toilet paper I had to google translate. Wifi barely working, had to call few times to ask about it. I have been to Cuba over 20 times so this is an honest review from a person that is not used to luxury whatsoever. Will not be back.

    Disappointed

    rating28 Mar 2025

I have stayed at this place multiple times BUT WILL BE THE LAST. The location is great and it’s affordable. Sadly we felt discriminated, why would they give a room THAT I reserved months prior to a “white couple” . when I confirmed and paid for? I SPECIFICALLY requested that room and confirmed multiple times. In another occasion a guy from the restaurant came by the pool to tell us “no outside drinks allowed” which is fine. The day after, we see a family with snacks and drinks that were obviously not purchased at the restaurant and no one told them anything. Unfortunately, the food at the restaurant is horrible! (breakfast is included) it safe to say is water down.. we got chilaquiles and those taste like literally water so FLAVORLESS, you’re better off going out for breakfast.

    Don’t stay here

    rating29 Dec 2024

Horrible Check in process . Got to the hotel at 5pm . It’s past 630pm and rooms aren’t available. Guy at the front desk says it’s not his fault, and he can’t do anything about it. Ask to talk to a supervisor and said no one is available. From the very beginning he was short and not helpful. Wouldn’t not stay here or recommend this place. After a long day of travel you don’t want to stay here. Also over an hour to get food at the restaurant .

Overall, I definitely do not recommend this place please stay elsewhere

It was a terrible experience but the receptionist was really nice and kind person. However, that doesn’t really change my mind about rating this hotel.I looked at the pictures on the Internet and it looked like a decent place but then we woke up and went down for breakfast. There was absolutely nothing to eat as a breakfast because they told us that they were cleaning up the kitchen and the stuff were so rude and they told us we could eat whatever is left on the tableI felt like I have been treated like a dog like you would throw something in front of a dog and it would eat the bone 😔
