Location

This adults-only hotel is located right by the beautiful Caribbean beach on Riviera Maya, just 15 minutes from Playa del Carmen and the archaeological excavation site of Tulum. Cancún International Airport is around 45 minutes away by car.

Facility

The resort has a lift and features 36 suites and 252 double rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Other services include a 24-hour security service, 24-hour room service, a laundry service and a hairdresser.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and a fan. Guests can enjoy the garden view from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. There is also an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi ensure optimal comfort. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The resort has 288 non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Plenty of active relaxation awaits guests in the pool area's 2 outdoor pools. Even in bad weather, a swim in the indoor pool is always an option. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. For guests who wish to keep active, beach volleyball, volleyball and basketball are available. A number of sports are available, including water sports such as canoeing, sailing, kayaking, snorkelling, water aerobics and aquafit. For a fee, guests can also enjoy windsurfing and diving. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, billiards, darts, yoga, callisthenics, aerobics and handball. Various wellness options are available at the resort, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon, massage treatments, anti-ageing treatments and a solarium. The complex offers an entertainment programme for adults.

Meals

Dining facilities include a café and a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. All-inclusive can be booked. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. Lunch (as a buffet) and dinner (a buffet, à la carte and a set menu) offer something for everyone. Special meals, including diet meals, are also available. In addition, special catering options and snacks are available. For guests, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included.

    Beautiful Hotel, but the Privileged Package Is Not Worth the Extra Cost

    Overall, the hotel is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The staff is friendly and hardworking, and we had an enjoyable stay. However, after two weeks at the resort, we felt that the Privileged package did not provide enough additional value to justify the extra cost.Upon arrival, we encountered a few disappointments. Based on reviews we had read, we expected the Privileged rooms to be located closer to the beach. Instead, they are situated near the lobby and the disco, so be prepared to hear music until approximately 1:00 a.m. We also had to wait nearly two hours to receive our room despite having paid for the Privileged package and expecting priority service.The rooms have been renovated, but there is nothing particularly remarkable about them. The balcony lacks a drying rack for swimsuits and beach towels, and the bathroom does not provide enough space for two guests to hang their towels.The minibar is stocked with only a few beverages, including two Modelo beers. There are no Corona beers available anywhere in the resort.One of the biggest disappointments was the beverage selection. The bars prominently display premium brands such as Don Julio tequila, but these are reserved for members of the Catalonia Vacation Club. Guests with the Privileged package are generally served lower-tier brands such as Sauza or Cazadores. This distinction is not always obvious when drinks are served by waitstaff, but it becomes noticeable when ordering directly at the bar.The food was hit-or-miss. The buffet selection was limited, and the portions at the Bloved restaurant were surprisingly small. However, it is worth mentioning that there is no dinner buffet in the evenings; dinner is served exclusively at the à la carte restaurants. Fortunately, the restaurants were generally very good, especially the Mexican restaurant and the steakhouse, which were among the highlights of our stay.The beach was unfortunately affected by a significant amount of sargassum seaweed during our visit. The staff worked tirelessly, and two tractors were constantly removing seaweed, but the volume was simply overwhelming. As a result, there were very few opportunities to enjoy the ocean. Large piles of seaweed were often collected near the Privileged beach section, creating a strong odor that made the area less enjoyable.Beach service during our first week was disappointing, with only two or three employees serving the entire beach area. After I shared my concerns with Diego from the entertainment team about paying for Privileged service while receiving essentially the same service as regular guests, the situation improved considerably. During our second week, a beach attendant checked on guests regularly and service became much more attentive.The beach itself also felt overcrowded. Lounge chairs were placed very close together, leaving little privacy, and there were not enough palm trees to provide adequate shade. Much of the day was spent moving chairs around to stay out of the sun.The disco offered a fun atmosphere with great music for dancing in the evenings. On the other hand, the room service menu was disappointing, particularly for breakfast. On the morning of our departure, we ordered breakfast to our room and received overcooked scrambled eggs and hard, burnt toast.Despite these shortcomings, the hotel’s greatest strength is its staff. Everyone was welcoming and eager to help. Special thanks to Diego and Edgar from the entertainment team, Angeles, Yenifer, and Quezabel at the restaurants, and especially Mario, who kept our room spotless every morning and always accommodated our preferred cleaning schedule.In summary, this is a beautiful resort with excellent staff, good à la carte restaurants, and a lively atmosphere. However, based on our experience, we would not pay extra for the Privileged package again, as the benefits did not significantly enhance our stay.
