Location

Surrounded by lush greenery, the family-friendly club resort (with Adults Only Area) is located in the stunning coastline of the Riviera Maya, approximately 19 km from Playa del Carmen, where guests will find numerous shops, bars and restaurants as well as nightlife, a bus station and a beach. Nearby places of interest include Xcaret (1.5 km away), Tulúm (4 km away), Xel-Há (2.5 km away), Cobá (8 km) and Chichen Itza (around 190 km away). The club resort is approximately 50 minutes from Cancún International Airport and 90 minutes from the city of Cancún.

Facility

The hotel has a lift and features 1264 rooms. Multilingual staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Services such as a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket. Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Guests of the complex receive a welcome gift on arrival. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. Rooms include a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. Whether in need of rest and relaxation or more activity, guests can swim a few lengths of one of the 5 outdoor pools, while children have a special swimming area just for them. Children are well looked after in the kids' club.

Meals

Dining facilities include 9 restaurants, a café and a bar. All-inclusive can be booked. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available. Special meals, including vegetarian dishes, are also available. The complex also offers snacks. The chefs prepare delicious specialities during the show cooking. The complex offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Las Villas Akumal was a fantastic place to stay. The beachfront location is beautiful, the villas are clean and spacious, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway with easy access to snorkeling and nearby attractions.

    The perfect ocean-front condo!

    This was the perfect spot! For a group of four, we had an amazing two-bed condo, ocean-front! The condo was spacious with a comfy living room, large tv, and kitchen including basic cook ware and a coffee maker. Our room came with a large water cooler, which was refilled upon request, which was nearly daily :) The concierge, Lizbeth, was truly incredible. She completely took care of us, from booking airport shuttles to local taxis, to arranging grocery delivery before we arrived, and finding us a private driver for a full day in Tulum! She was extremely kind and professional, and so easy to communicate and work with. Many many thanks to Lizbeth! Breakfast at the upstairs restaurant was lovely, and we enjoyed dinners at Jungle Fish (the only dinner option within walking distance). The hotel however is a 20 minute walk to the Akumal town beach, which was very convenient. We loved drinks at Lol Ha, snorkeling with the turtles, and souvenir shopping in town. Akumal is the perfect launching pad for trips to Chichen Itza, Tulum, and local cenotes. This was the perfect spot for us! Would definitely recommend and would love to come back here! P.S. Our porch had daily encounters with the resident iguanas!

    Las Villas condos on Jade Bay are a lovely place to stay. Come for the quiet, the spacious accommodations, and the lovely views of the ocean. Jade Bay is the bay south of Akumal Bay, Akumal Bay is ~ a 20 minute walk along the shore or a 7 minute drive. The sea is often rough in Jade Bay, so ocean swimming is iffy. This is our 2nd stay here; this time the sea is calm. Snorkeling isn’t good. All the coral is dead, I saw very few fish. We enjoyed the condo, full kitchen, excellent cleaning service. I’m still smiling at the memories of swinging in the hammock chair on the patio, sipping a beer and looking at the beautiful scenery. The pool is lovely and relaxing. All the staff are nice and helpful. And there are lifevests, kickboards, and paddleboards available to guests. We’ll be back!The main restaurant in Jade Bay is Jungle Fish. We went last time and found it good though overpriced with slow service, so we didn’t return this time. Others love it. There are lots of other options in Akumal

    This is not a hotel. There is no bar or restaurant. You can order in breakfast and lunch to have in your apartment. There’s one restaurant a few yards away which was good but it closes at 7.30pm. There are no shops close by so you need a car to get food and drinks. We had inadvertently booked a standard room which had no view at all and felt like we were in the basement! Having said that the facilities were excellent. We upgraded to a sea view on 1st and last night which was totally different. The beach was very narrow and gritty and I could see rocks near by so didn’t venture.

    Quiet, relaxing aparthotel; average beach, but Sea Turtles!

    We were able to book Las Villas last minute for a great price in the off-season for the area, which was a great deal. The reception staff greeted us very kindly, and were incredibly helpful throughout the duration of our stay. The rooms were clean, large, and well decorated and kept up. Lots of natural light, beautiful balconies, and fabulous views! There are two smallish pools, warm and clean. Kitchen is stocked with dishes and appliances/dishes that we needed. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxed vacation, this is a great spot for it. The colectivo is quick and easy to grab to go down the highway, or reception can call taxis for wherever you want to go.Beach: the beach is very rocky, and the ocean was very full of seaweed (which we were warned about this time of year). BUT the whole beach was full of turtle nests, and we got to experience a hatching! There were volunteers all night on the beach checking for babies and making sure they got to the ocean, and they taught us about them and let us watch what they were doing. It was fascinating--once in a lifetime experience, for sure.There is no place for drinks or dinner, they do have a small rooftop restaurant for breakfast (not great). But, there is a restaurant beachside next door, and it was excellent! Downsides:*Bedding is older, comforters are very lumpy and not great. *The front door didn't close tightly, we had to put a towel down to prevent critters from getting in.*The toilets can't handle any toilet paper (or much else), and they don't have plungers in the room. I had to ask for one after hours, unfortunately, but thankfully the security guard was able to get one for me (reception closes at 9). *The beach is rocky and not great for lounging or swimming. We were able to walk down the beach 15 minutes or so and swim near other resorts, which was nice. *The thermostat and both remotes had dead batteries, but they replaced them. *Reception closes at 9, so if you need something after hours you have to call the emergency number. BUT the receptionists were fabulous and incredibly helpful anytime we needed something!
