Location

This hotel is located nearby one of the most charming towns of the Mexican Caribbean, Playa del Carmen, and lies adjacent to the famous beaches of Playacar, renowned for their spectacular white sand and crystal clear waters. The nearby town is an ideal place for relaxing and shopping, where guests will also find links to the public transport network. The hotel is additionally only an hour from Cancún airport.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 96 single rooms and 283 double rooms located in two 2-storey buildings with lifts. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a playroom. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the garden view from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. Cosmetic products and a selection of towels provide additional comfort in the bathrooms. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Sport

Guests can work out or just relax in the outdoor and indoor pools. Kids can splash about in a special swimming area just for them. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. There is a poolside snack bar as well. The wide range of activities offered at the resort ensures that there is something new to do every day, including tennis, bocce, beach volleyball, volleyball, basketball, archery and fishing. With jet skiing, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning, kayaking, snorkelling and diving available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. Sport and leisure facilities at the resort include table tennis, billiards and darts. Various wellness options are available at the resort, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a fun entertainment programme.

Meals

The dining area includes 3 restaurants and a bar. All-inclusive can be booked. A generous breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner offer plenty of delicious variety. Staff are also happy to provide children's meals. The resort offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    All the staff at hotel were awesome. The waitstaff went above and beyond for us. They were amazing. The rooms were really small. I wish you could choose to have a beachfront room. The breakfast and lunch weren’t bad but the dinner was horrible. The only dinner that was good was the Italian restaurant and Italian night on the buffet. If you had young kids there it would be hard to find food they would eat. The beach was horrible. There was so much seaweed you couldn’t even go in the ocean. The resort was well kept. They had a Michael Jackson show that was awesome.     We stayed at this resort in August '25 for 7 nights and had the best time. We stayed again in February '26 for 8 nights and again so enjoyed it. We just got back from spending 9 nights there in May '26 and brought our son who turned 21 on the trip along with a friend of his. We love the beautiful beach, inviting pools, tasty food and drinks, and especially the warm hospitality literally from every person who works there. We wondered if two 21 year olds would find enough at the resort to keep busy. It turns out they enjoyed it as much as we have. They took scuba lessons in the hotel pool and then went on the ocean with it. They joined in all the pool activities, played beach volleyball, swam in the ocean, went to Fifth Avenue for massages, never missed a meal, enjoyed the swim-up bar, attended the nightly entertainment. It was the perfect setting for our son's 21st birthday, and my husband and I already have 9 more nights booked this August. It's a super easy, direct flight from Atlanta to Cancun and then a 50 min shuttle ride to the resort. We both work full-time so we enjoy our time away and have found Allegro Playacar to be the perfect getaway for our family.
