    Okay

Bad start as we were given a room with a broken toilet and took awhile for anybody to come and address the situation. However we were moved into a better room eventually. Sadly another of our rooms (as we booked two), featured a broken shower head. Food was decent and staff was nice.

    Unethical and inconsiderate

    rating16 Jul 2024

Myself and a group of 5 other people were supposed to travel to Tulum on July 5th. Hurricane Beryl hit Tulum and our flight was cancelled. We contacted the Kaab hotel and let them know the situation and they stated that they would not be able to refund us our money because we did not purchase an insurance. We explained that we had every intention of going but had no way of doing so because the flight was not going to fly out at all. Long story short, we were not able to attend this trip and the hotel did not refund us our money. Don’t trust these small hotels, they are very inconsiderate and will use any opportunity to rip you off! sara rosales, Promocionar at Kaab Tulum, responded to this review Hello Monse. We are very sorry for situations like this. At KB Tulum, we are always thinking of our guests. We understand that with Hurricane Beryl, which is a situation we cannot control, flights and trips were cancelled and delayed. Unfortunately when reservations are made through Booking or other sales channel with non-refundable rate, it is not possible for us as a hotel to make a refund. You would have to request the refund through the sales channel you made your reservation (booking, expedia, etc.) KB Tulum, can refund you when you make your reservation through our website. If you have your reservation number, or name to whom it is made, we can check it. However, we offered you a change of date, as it is the only solution we can give you. If you still have your reservation number, and you plan to come to Tulum on another date, we can respect your reservation. Please contact us. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and hope you can plan your trip at a later date.

DO NOT GO TO SPA IT IS A SCAM

    rating31 Mar 2024

Worst spa experience I have had. Establishment lies every time they have a chance.Management is non existing in the hotel. They do not take accountability for anything. If something goes wrong they do not even talk to you face to face they will continue to communicate through text.

    Not a boutique hotel

    rating19 Jan 2023

This was the most disappointing place we stayed in in 3 weeks travelling around the Yucatan peninsula. Let’s start with the good things:The room was clean and beds were very comfortable, the air con is excellent, the water pressure in the shower was fine; the location in the centre of Tulum just off the main street was ideal and there’s free parking right by the hotel. However this really isn’t a boutique hotel, and it really shouldn’t cost over £150 a night. The room (2nd floor) is big but very spartan and slightly shabby. It overlooks the pool but you can’t really open the curtains because the window looks out onto the walkway with other people walking past, and there’s no other window in the room. The pool area looks pretty at night with the lights on, but it looks a bit rundown in daylight. The staff are mostly well-meaning (especially the bar/restaurant staff) but they are lacking in basic training and don’t seem to have any experience of running a hotel. Only one person knew how to use the coffee machine and they couldn’t find him at breakfast time. If you pay with cash at the bar they often had no change and took ages to find some, if you try to pay by card only one person knew how to use the card payment machine and that person wasn’t around. On New Year’s Eve we were out all day but they didn’t come to clean the room until just after we got back at 4.30pm so we had to leave the room again. When we were ready to checkout (with nothing to pay, only the key to hand in) we had to wait because the receptionist was doing something else.We had cappuccinos for breakfast and nobody told us until we were leaving that they weren’t included and we had to pay extra (also the coffee was absolutely dire). The breakfast was quite poor, appalling filter coffee, some powdered juice, some fruit (only melon by day two) and some chilaquiles which were ok the first day but got worse and more mushy as time went on. All in all a very average place to stay which if they advertised it as budget/hostel accommodation and charged a lot less for it, would be acceptable.

Don’t go to this hotel! They stole clothes from our suitcases in the room

    rating04 Aug 2022

Please don’t go to this hotel. They stole clothes from our suitcases in the hotel room. And when you try to talk to the management about it they refuse to answer at first and after a while they deny everything. Horrible experience I would never go back after this. It’s a sad situation because you can’t act like this to you’re guests. If this wouldn’t have happend we would recommend the hotel because of the nice pool and nice people at the restaurant. But after this no never again.
